Keeping our powder dry for the next superstar that shakes loose is prudent. Still skeptical Giannis gets moved.
Is this also why you bring DFS in? Maybe hedge your bets if you eventually want to offer Sengun and Tari/Bari in a Giannis trade?
Sengun, Tari, Cam and Landale and the PHX picks. FVV/Reed Amen Durant/DFS Giannis Bari Maybe sign Ayton to start and bring Bari off the bench for all the backup 4/5 minutes.
No doubt General Manager Ime Udoka is pushing this. I think the Rockets big moves are done until next year. (Obviously besides MLE and/or flipping Jock/Cam) Giannis: $54.1M Sengun+Landale+Tari+Cam+Nate=53.2 Not trading Durant Young guys Sengun ($33.9M) Thompson ($9.6M) Reed ($10.6M) Can’t trade Fred (12/15/25) Steve (12/14/25) Jabari (7/1/26) Holiday Green Tate Left with Landale $8M Tari $5.6M Cam $3.5M Nate $2.2M
Sengun and Amen would have to be included at this point I'm guessing, other salary fillers and all the Phoenix picks. That's probably minimum to have a chance to get Giannis.
You’d have to be a moron to believe reports that Giannis is “absolutely staying in Milwaukee”. Never made sense and there was plenty of smoke hinting at this fire despite such reports
He is a troubled individual that he wants the fans to believe that the org is letting him down, and he has no choice to leave.... He wants to leave with the blessings of his fanbase....lmao. Thus dragging this out.
Don’t love this. This leaves our cabinets pretty bare in a few years if Durant retires and anything happens to Giannis. Unless you think Amen, Jabari, and Reed alone make you a contender. Giving up our all star AND all our future picks would be a big gamble on a 30-plus year old player.
Sengun, maybe yes, but not necessarily. Amen probably deemed untouchable. Other names potentially mentioned would be FVV, Jabari, Cam, Jock but the key to this trade from Milwaukee’s perspective would be (3) 1st RD picks.
No. Sengun would have to be included, if simply for All Star talent level and salary matching. Amen as well? Nah. In fact, F*** NO. Not both.
I like what Stone has done so far. He’s improved one of the most glaring problems without completely gutting our youth or pick assets and he’s still got room to work around the edges. I’d like to see what this team can do and preserve the ability to make major moves later if the team isn’t performing as expected. You don’t want to create Frankenstein’s monster here.
