i dont have a problem keeping any of these guys... but it doesnt make much sense... They are all outside of the rotation and it's highly likely that none see any significant minutes... so based on that... shouldnt u be using those spots to try to find a diamond in the rough? i mean, we know the ceiling on all of these guys... if we had a roster full of question marks then being able to fallback on a vet is good practice... but that aint the case...
Calling Tate garbage is straight up disrespectful. He was the only bright light when we were fielding a team of John Wall, Christian Woods, PJ Tucker and Sterling Brown.
Probably but marginal NBA players are usually called scrubs, Tate is fine...... but I don't mind the term although Tate is content with sitting at the end of the bench/in the stands which is garbage attitude. No hunger to prove himself. You are right that when Christian Wood here, I saw the most of Tate.
You can’t stock your team with potential prospects. You need guys who can contribute if they are called upon but won’t lose an edge or become unprofessional not playing. These guys are fierce competitors that are proven NBA players. They are awesome 3rd stringers that are key for good practice sessions and workouts.
We got back 3 of our players for the vet min to fill out the end of the bench. Every team has to do this but not every team has these guys. You might find a better player but not one for this team. These guys are important 5-10 games a year and may play 1 out of 5 games. It's hard to find guys GOOD at that existence. Young unsigned players have the benefit of floating to the GLeague and getting playing time and have the promise they might improve over time. These guys know their role is permanent and stay prepared to help the team. Very happy we solidified our team. Go use our remaining assets/cap for NTMLE to get another good player and then wait for Summer League.
Exactly. If Sheppard (because we all know that’s who BobbyTheGrating is talking about) had played better, he’d have earned more minutes. Same with Cam.
You're a team allegedly trying to win a title with a handful of young core guys already that need to develop further. Filling out the end of the bench with reliable vets is a normal thing. They won't play much, but when they do you need guys you know will go in there and do what you want, not be idiots.
This has what to do with me again? Let me guess. I'm being confused for this asshat for the trillionth time.
Tate, Unc Jeff and Holiday shouldnt be seeing any minutes they should just be cheerleaders and practice partners. If somebody gets injured though they should be able to fill in immediately and be a stopgap solution. A diamond in the rough is the wrong person cuz that young guy with potential is gonna get frustrated if he doesnt see any PT ala Cam. Also once he is needed in case of injuries the lack of PT will make him play bad if you just throw him out there. By the time he is starting to get the hang of it the main guy might be back wasting all his progress cuz he will have to sit on the bench again.
The upside and downside are the same. Boring. We just know them too well and opponents underestimate 'em. No more surprises other than Aaron and Unc having a 18 pt game every 50 games. Tate deserves to just travel the NBA instead of being stuck in Houston half the time sitting on hardwood the last 3 years. Be in Pho, Arizona.
