I hope that we trade Alou. This time around Gerry the Hun better pick up some damn good players from the RedSox. Something about a certain Carl Everett trade in which we got screwed.

I want Moises traded so that Lance Berkman gets more playing time. I think he is the real deal.

I also think we need to trade Darryl Ward to some American League team where he can be used as a DH. Whatever team we trade Ward to we have to pick up quality (relief) pitchers. I mean the Stros bullpen stinks.

I'm still giddy that Duquette is trying to get his good friend Sammy Sosa. Go Sox

Pedro Martinez or no deal. They owe us compensation for Carl Everett.

I agree Dream34. They should at least explore the options of trading him. Hell, they should have traded him last year instead of Everett!! We have Hidalgo who is playing well and is younger. Alou is expendable if we can get some quality pitching.

Daryl Ward is very expendable. I don't understand why so many people want to keep the guy because he is a one dimensional player. He can't play the outfield and has shown signs of being a good hitter, but has yet to reach that potential. That potential will best be reached in the American League where he can concentrate solely on hitting.

Update regarding Alou and the Redsox. Apparently he would waive his no trade clause if it meant going to the Red Sox. Here is the part from the article...
    -----------------------------------------

    Source: Alou is game

One major league source said yesterday that he believed Houston Astros outfielder Moises Alou would be willing to play for the Red Sox and would waive the no-trade clause in his contract if the clubs were able to work out a deal.

The Red Sox have inquired about Alou's availability, but the Astros have yet to contact his agents about waiving his rights. Two Astros scouts have been at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket this weekend and two Houston scouts were at Fenway yesterday.

The Red Sox still want to remain players in the Sosa sweepstakes, and two Chicago Cubs scouts were in attendance at McCoy (one was also following the Double-A Trenton Thunder). An Arizona Diamondbacks scout joined the crowd for yesterday's game in Pawtucket.
