The only logical move for the Rockets to do next is trade Sengun + (?) for Giannis.

    Yes, I agree with you.

Gary Trent Jr should be the first target for the Rockets.

Ty Jerome should be the second choice.

Not a needle mover on either and I believe TJr is being talked to by the Bucks to come back.....

Trent Jr scored 37 points in a playoff game vs the Pacers. He's a useful defender too.

Yes, but he is what 31-32? I mean if you can get him cheap, but why trade anything of value for a guy like that?

We do have a 14m MLE - that would work.

Trent Jr is 26 years old. I think the Rockets should the NT-MLE to sign him, if possible.

Why not trade him for Shai and Jalwn Williams since you are in fantasy land.

He is worth it but we don't have the contract space to match that salary without breaking a lot of our core.

I think Ty is going to look for the chance to compete for a starting job on his next team...

Yeah, but he *feels* 31-32 because I prefer Cam Whitmore...

I don't want to give up on Cam, but I'm also no longer very optimistic about his growth. KD has never been the mentor type so I wouldn't bank on him turning Cam's attitude around. The other vets didn't seem to have the same kind of influence on Cam as the other young players.

I'd give Cam until the deadline to show improvement. He's still young so if we dump him then he still might retain his trade value. But if an solid wing vet wants to join us in free agency and we can use Cam's salary to trade for them now I wouldn't complain.

FVV could help the Sixers and is paid the same with his new contract. KD fills his role as championship veteran.

You also can’t force mentor people. I don’t see Cam capable of a mentor relationship.

Yes, I think it's unlikely that he will join the Rockets with FVV and RS.

Trent Jr is only 26 years old. He was forced to be 2nd option on the Bucks in the playoffs because of Giannis's injury and averaged 19 points, 2.2 rebs, 2.6 steals on 52% FG and 50% from 3PT. For the MLE, that's a needle mover.

    https://hoopshype.com/lists/nba-int...myles-turner-nickeil-alexander-walker-trades/

Houston Rockets swingman Cam Whitmore has drawn trade interest from the Chicago Bulls (before the Isaac Okoro acquisition) and Denver Nuggets, among others, league sources told HoopsHype.

It’s worth noting Whitmore was nearly traded to the Phoenix Suns in the Kevin Durant trade, league sources told HoopsHype. Instead, Phoenix opted for more future second-round draft pick compensation, HoopsHype has learned.

Whitmore, who turns 21 in July, has averaged 10.8 points in 17.4 minutes per game in two seasons for the Rockets.
