Those are the two glaring things missing, shot creation is by far our biggest flaw right now, as nobody on this team outside of maybe Amen can create good shots.

FVV is a safe PnR guy, but he is not a real shot creator.

That is our biggest hole left to fill we need a shot creator, and we could use a better scorer to round out players who struggle at shooting in Amen and FVV for example.

So, ANYONE we bring in should be to fill those two roles, not more defense first players, this team needs offense.

We should trade for KD, he would solve those problems.

He helps for sure....but if we are truly all in you can't rely on a 37 year old to play 30mpg - he will need help, and when Amen drives we need 3pt shooting on the perimeter.

Now, maybe Alpi is shooting 1000 3s a day, or Tari is, or jabari or maybe Cam - but that is what we need .....look at the 2 teams in the finals they all had 4-5 3pt shooters on the floor at all times.

    This is the way!

KD, Amen and Sengun create shots. Bari and Reed (and Durant, he’s pretty good) make shots.

Need to add another guard who can shoot. Either trade for a Sexton, Lavine, White, Murphy, etc or sign a MLE FA like Beasley.

Agreed, but this is The Ime Rockets. I keep hearing the phrase “Dillon Brooks replacement” in regards to speculation about how Rockets could use the MLE. We’ll have to wait and see

That is what scares me we already have that covered in Amen and Tari.

    We need shooting,

Whoever we bring in, they need to shoot at least 80% from free throws! I swear we lost quite a few games because of free throws!

Off season just now starting.... so many deals can be had as the summer progresses - especially Blockbusters with Jalen Brown or Giannis

Bring in to fill out the roster or bring in to play significant minutes in the rotation? Idk if wanting someone that meets your requirements matter if they're the 8th or 9th man .. Just saying

You might be right, finding someone that can shoot, and also create for say 11m isn't going to be easy......but that is the job, I guess.

What I worry is that Stone goes after role players, which Ime loves (probably because that is who he was) and we end up with another team that only has one guy in KD that can shoot above average, that will lead to another playoff exit.

We need to be able to shoot 3s, look at Indiana and OKC, they always had 3-5 3pt shooters on the floor at all times, 3s are so important in the modern game.

And we are very short on 3pt shooters, and guys that can dribble drive and finish.....outside of Amen we don't have that skillset - maybe Cam....

Why not just make reed come off the bench as your SG? Seems like the most logical thing to do.
That and add Gary Trent Jr.

Agreed.. If Stone is selling us that Reed is the PG of the future, then it's a pretty easy choice.. Wasn't he scouted as being much more than a 3 point shooter and thus was drafted that high? Well we need to see it now that there's no logjam at the guard spots , on paper anyway.. I wouldn't overpay for a 8th player on the bench to come in if Reed is that dude and can fill that role that DD has laid out..

help me here, DaDa, as I haven’t quite caught up with this NewWorldOrder/CBA.

Looking around league it’s scary how one trade forces second apron ramifications. Cs? They might just come out on the other side of this with a massive JB trade, being a soft landing spot for Tatum’s long term bestie from the desert, and rolling it back out in ‘26.

Not so rosy in SudsCity. Or Indy.

Cavs have trouble. So on and so forth, scooby-dooby-doo.

How far can the Rox go for Grimes or Jerome with big contracts looming behind? Where does team building end and where does an eye toward future roster manipulation begin?

Personally, IMO an add of Grimes or Jerome would cement tier status.

Short of them, IMO acquiring Wade would be very positive.

Ya but it seems 2nd year Reed will have to mesh in eventually.

I like playing Fred and Reed in some lineups, where Fred is teaching him the ropes, where sometimes
he can let Reed bring the ball up and Fred trains him to use his smarts. Holiday thou should be your
main first option when playing better teams, cause of his exp.

Right now, it is looking likely the Rox will have the first Apron MLE available or about 14m per year, once they get everyone signed.

What they might be doing is using Landale's 8m option and aggragating it with other players like Cam, or Tari, or Jabari, to try to get a player that has a larger contract - but no one really knows.

They have until July 7th to do that as Landale's option expires then (It used to be today but Landale agreed to extend it) probably to give him a better shot at 8m this year.

Or, if none of the offers excite the Rockets or move the needle, just get the BPA for the 14m MLE first apron slot, or wait until December when FVV becomes tradable as a contract to get a player that costs more money (What I would do).

@BimaThug would be far better at this than me, so if he or someone else wants to correct my math or what we can do, feel free.

    Thanks.

They're not going to find it this year barring a miracle:

From Amen (shoots above 30% from outside on high volume)

Or Cam not being a blackhole
