I agree. Give Whimore substantial minutes to prove (or not) that he can be our big shooting guard. Cam is not an ace on d, but he could offset that part of the game with his offense, something lacking in the this year's playoff run. Like I said, it is not all about defense.
Thoughts on sign-n-trade FVV/multiple FRPs for Derrick White Jr? Our starting lineup would look like this: Sengun Jabari KD Derrick White Jr Amen We'll upgrade our defense and 3pt shooting with this trade...
If it's not Cam then there is legitimately something wrong. I feel like, it's him or he's traded. Personally, I hope he is given his moment here and he shines because the kid is explosive offensively!
Just want to remind everyone that cam is 20 years old. I’m all for him getting his minutes but remember he’s still very raw and Ime didn’t have a whole lot of confidence in him last season. Hopefully he makes the jump but it wouldn’t hurt to have another established shooting guard on the roster. I don’t really want to give up assets to trade for one but it wouldn’t hurt to earmark the MLE.
The rockets love Fred. I’m not sure why people think he’s on the block. Also Boston might be done. They just ducked the apron trading dingus and jrue. Don’t know if they’re gutting the team further. I’m also not giving up multiple first for white. Right now we have ammo to go after a big fish if they become available. I’m not wasting half of it on white. IMO the current roster plus the MLE and we’re set at least to start the season.
Yep, he is very young and showed some immaturity at times. It may have been due to frustration with inconsistent playing time. I think the Rockets still wanted to give Jalen a chance to show he could be the SG of this team but now that the team has moved on from Jalen Cam has to know this is his shot to prove it. He KNOWS what Ime wants and expects of him out there. I hope he spends this summer getting his mind and game ready to come in and win consistent minutes. KD should be a very good mentor for him (and Jabari). I hope we can bring in a vet like GTJ or Luke Kennard as that vet SG that can knock down shots. I hope we see some good news Monday.
I think we might be okay with Fred/Amen/Reed as the backcourt, but it is a bit risky, and if one of Fred/Amen gets injured we're looking at a lot of Aaron Holiday minutes. A backup shooting guard is probably the ticket--a guy not seeking a starting role.
