George A. Romero's Resident Evil Watched this yesterday and found it fairly intriguing, especially in the back half where it really finds its footing on what it's trying to say about Romero and the genre in general. I was a huge fan of the first three Resident Evil games in college and I've always been a big fan of Romero so I'm right in the demo for the subject matter. A little dry in spots but overall a solid documentary especially if are a fan of either RE or Romero. B+
I just saw "Finch" with Tom Hanks. That's my kind of film. A man, a dog, and a robot during an apocalypse. It felt like I was watching "Castaway" in some ways. And, Tom delivered another brilliant performance imo. Did he lose a bunch of weight for this role as well? Amazing actor. And, the robot was great! It doesn't work without the robot (for obvious reasons). Just a few days in the life of an apocalypse. Very sad, too. It poked me in all the right places.
Bummer, I had high hopes for that movie. Relatedly, "Hero Fiennes Tiffin (of the Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes family)" is the most upperclass twit name I've heard in a while.
Plane - 9/10 Gerard Butler is a hit or miss for me (mostly miss), but man, this was 1 of his best movies in years thrilling movie that had my attention the entire run time
