I've been wondering the same thing. He wasn't exactly a slap hitter in prior seasons, but to suddenly jump from a 25-30 hr a year guy to looking like Barry Bonds seems very suspect.

I have a feeling that other team's fans don't use many Astros to complete their ballot after voting for their guys.

If we would have shutout the Phillies last night, we would have broken the record for shutout games in a single day in the major leagues. LOL.

P*sses me off, esp with how great Hunters been. But flip side they'll get rest. Rather that and be ready for October.

    assuming though they'll be reserves.

I wonder why the AL has a designated DH spot and the NL doesn't

All joking aside , framber has got a good of a chance as anyone with more or equal to his years of service (just based on rank) .

Cole has an ok shot to get to it imo . He's about 100 wins away and he's 34 . Corbin burnes is younger than framber, but has the same number of years in his career.

    Framber has 76 wins .

He's got 8 right now , on pace for 16 for the year .

    82.

    250-82 = 168

Essentially , if framber can pitch at a 13 win pace for 13 more years. He'd be 45

Or maybe he can go on like a 5 year massive 20+ game tear. And then do like 4 more years of 15 and get it done around age 40.

Hey if he resigns with us he will have Cam Smith , paredes , and maybe Yordan.

His bat speed hasn't increased. He is just barrelling the ball more and being more aggressive at the plate. He's actually whiffing more and striking out more. His increase in homeruns come from the ones that barely get over the wall. He has a slightly higher launch angle. As I mentioned before, Cam has a faster swing than Cal.

This the type of approach I wish Yordan would take. Yordan should think more like a slugger and less like a hitter. I wonder if his hand issues have made him less aggressive..

    I know...

Though I can't think of a better late memorial service for his family, you know the HOF'll do it right.

And we are just two games back from the best record in the AL

Gonna be funny when the team with the best record has ZERO starters lol

Wags, Ichiro, CC, The Cobra & Dick Allen. I'm considering going. I had no idea...

How much are tickets for the baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony?

Lawn seating for the event is unlimited and free of charge. A blanket or lawn chair is recommended for comfortable viewing!

Ichiro had a pretty good arm, right?

Most OF assists in a season:

    Ichiro: 12 (twice)
    Parker: 26

I witnessed quite a few Astros' get hosed on the basepaths by the Cobra during his 1983-1987 seasons with the Reds. Those were my wonder years in the Dome. The Reds had a fun team and finished 2nd in the N.L. West 3 years in a row. Astros finished 10 games ahead of them in '86.

Anyone know exactly how & why Brantley just fell off the face of Houston/MLB/Earth…? Seems sus.
Was thinking about Paredes being a “professional hitter” (Game 2, CHC @ HOU) and the memory of ol’ Uncle Mike started to dig at me and question his abrupt exit from the sport…

His shoulder was trashed even before he retired. Same as Bagwell.

I do wonder what he's doing now...I'm going to assume it's relaxed.

IIRC Parker's 26 OF assists in '77 were the 2nd most since WWII behind Clemente's 27 in '61
