Basically, yes. They have a full roster to fill out. The top 7-9 players are what matter. I'm not gonna whine over who the bench scrubs are. Every team needs practice dummies and it's good to have guys who won't complain about playing time.
continuity is good. I can see Holiday being traded after Sheppard proves himself. Green is their for veteran presence I'm glad he's back and Tate is the oldest tenured Rocket. No reason not to bring him back
I am ok with Unc Jeff. HOYA SAXA! I was thinking S&T on Tate I am ok with Holiday, but IMHO his contract is attractive to include in a deal Also garbage is a bit harsh
Bringing back the 3 piece band. Trusty Vet's whom all played fantastic minutes on the court. They can be trusted 100%. They will all play in crucial moments at some point. All champions need a strong bench.
For deep bench guys, Green, Tate, and Holiday are solid. They all had quality moments last season. Don’t be a dick. Not everyone can be an all-star.
The biggest problem is that Ime is definitely dumb enough to play these guys over better younger players. With a competent coach, it would be fine.
Don't care who the end of the bench guys are unless they are young with potential. From these guys, just hope they don't take away Reed and Cam's minutes like last year.
Typically when the contract details aren't included in the Shams tweet, that means it's a veteran minimum. Otherwise the agency would want you to know it. If we get all three of these guys on vet mins, that's a big W.
We need a coach that is better than leading his team to finishing with the 2nd best record in the west with inferior staff? The goal is to win games. The goal is not to sacrifice winning for the sake of developing young players. That was Sila's job. If the young players can contribute to winning, such as Amen, they'll figure out how to get PT.
If the Rockets re-sign all 3 that's 12 players. So that should mean they can sign one more player on the market for the full 13-man roster. I would assume this means they are going for a center. Cause carrying only Adams and Sengun capable of playing large minutes at center is pretty untenable for the regular season.
If we can get them on vet mins, or close to it, why not? Tate, while a punching bag on clutchfans is always net positive while on court, brings great energy and defense, with Brooks gone might be of more use. Jeff's is great for the locker room and actually brings a decent scoring punch when called upon. Aaron's shooting has been fantastic, he plays hard on defense, has some driving ability, good A/TO and okay playmaking. Most importantly, if these guys want to be back, thats huge. In Jeffs case okay, most guys his age are fine riding the bench. But in Aaron and Tate's situation, finding young healthy guys who can come in and be positive players on the court that are also content be professional and positive in the locker room when out of the rotation for long stretches is huge and difficult to find.
