To be clear, “it may benefit the team in the end.” Plenty of nba players don’t make it past the rookie contracts because the nba is a meritocracy. Ime did play guys that are developing, it’s just at some point they have to meet expectations. If you needing to handicap your team so young, developing players get preference over better “established, mediocre” then you may lose the locker room.
Well he played Jalen Green all year and Cam outshot him for the season......I don't think Ime is in danger of losing the locker room, I just think he over values defense first players because that is how he played the game. I believe balance works better, you need good offense too.....but we got that with Durant now, so all is good. DD
It was a reporter asking him about his contribution to the game....let me see if I can find it.... He is literally talking about what HE thinks he needs to do....it is a nothing burger....he is saying he has a lot of questions about himself too....just like they do.....seriously.....folks took this as complaining..... DD
I think Tari's ceiling is Dillon Brooks...his lack of ballhandling skills and off-the-dribble shot creation limits him as an offensive threat. Tari's rookie season gave us Kawhi Leonard vibes, but he hasn't progressed much offensively since his rookie season. However, I think he will continue to be a good role player/impact player for years to come!
Yeah, that's what I figured. People don't like Cam for some reason and just look for reasons to support their negativity.
It is what he has been his whole life, a 6th man impact player, and he is great at it - he might be a role player starter on some teams, maybe the Rox, but he isn't a star player, nor a major worry to other teams on offense, he is a great rebounder, an ok shooter, and a wonderful defender - we are lucky to have him. DD
You can literally look at the people in this thread that are saying trade him or he is on the way out, and compare it to other threads about him and they were the same people who didn't like him - maybe if he gets his shot this year, and proves folks wrong they will come around. Maybe I will be wrong and he is just not good enough - either way, would be nice to just see him get a consistent opportunity. DD
It seems like he has a spot in the rotation, but if I had to guess I say he gets traded for a lottery protected pick and we use the MLE to sign Gary Trent.
Geez he signed a vet minimum deal after being a pretty decent player 39% 3pt 43% FG at 6'5".....26 years old. I mean, his market is nuts usually that guy would get like 20m plus but is there a market, and I think the Bucks are trying to sign him and KPJ but not sure they have that cap room either. He has no upside to that though.....he is a nice role player, will be interesting to see his contract. DD
I think he was progressing just fine from his rookie year to 2nd year, but the preseason injury eventually forced the surgery in December and he missed the rest of the season. Last summer, his offseason workouts were limited and his playing schedule last season was annoyingly Helter Skelter (out of caution). In spite of that, he still showed improvement and was on a very solid roll late in the season until his father died April 2nd. We all clearly saw he wasn't the same after that. This summer, without any limitations on how much he can work out, I expect Tari to come into the season improved, maybe on another level. IMO, if Jabari doesn't do the same thing, Tari will leave him in the dust.
Do we know there are no limitations, he was still suffering pain in his leg on b2b games. And his father passing is awful. That maybe true, but there is no reason to do that now, until you see how it is in the regular season - teams are not going to give up stuff for him now, the draft is going. Maybe at the trade deadline - but I think unless we are combining salaries for another big splash, we are probably done until mid December at the earliest....done trading any of the core 6. DD
Does anyone have his stats on missed layups and putbacks? He was awful at that his rookie year. It was really getting under my skin back then. It didn’t seem quite as bad this season.
I hope so and yes you're correct there were some variables, including the death of a family member, could have slowed his progression...I like his role on the team, and we should definitely keep him! I'm not sold on Jabari...I need him to develop a post game...too damn tall and he don't like playing in the post, smh
I think a lot of Tari's issues: dribbling into traffic, fouling shooters, rushing the finish on layups, are mental and can be fixed if he puts the effort into doing so. Having a top 20 all-time player who plays the same position will do wonders for the growth and maturation of his game. Honestly I hope they get an extension done this offseason cause he might demand way more by the end of next season.
What show? Is there a link? Shams said they might be looking to trade Cam if they wanted to do more - but not that they WERE looking to trade him, one is speculation, one is information. Do you know which one you heard? Here is the speculation one. https://rocketswire.usatoday.com/st...ial-trade-candidate-from-rockets/84371108007/ DD
