I absolutely hate it when my team doesn't have a draft pick. :(

Dave is abandoning us during the dog days of the offseason. Check Twitter for us. Maybe he posted there.

Agree with the adding rookie scale contracts, but let me push back a little on our late 1st Rd success. BTW, I love Eli and he nailed the Sengun and Eason picks, but in 2021 I really wanted Grimes in late 1st (UofH homer) and we passed on him for 2 guys out of the league now. The very next draft (2022) we had a chance to draft Nikola Jovic (my target with that late pick), but we traded down and took TyTy. So late first round we're 0-3 in the last few years.

As far as 2027 pick I'm not sure the Nets would be as interested in 2029 or others, but it's worth a try.

hate that the Heat get all my favorite late round prospects every year. Jovic, Ware, Kasparas.

Pretty much confirms they'll be good players.

After we just moved 5 2nds I don’t really see us getting into the draft unless it’s a later pick we can pick up for cash.

Sheppard will be penciled in as the primary backup PG, if Cam is still with the team, he'll be penciled in as primary backup SG on paper, but in reality Tari will get backup minutes before him. The Rockets have a lot of guys who are essentially positionless, so what shows up on the depth chart won't reflect how things actually are.

I would expect us to buy into the late second round tonight to draft a guy we can get on a second round minimum contract, which will save us $1M/yr against the luxury tax vs. any other minimum contract -- giving us $1M extra to play with signing/trading for a veteran 9th man.

Given what this FO/coaching staff value (versatile defense + rugged competitiveness first, shooting second), some guys that wouldn't surprise me:

    Jamir Watkins
    Micah Peavy
    Sion James
    Brooks Barnhizer
