I don't love the Hummell experience so far. If we continue to win every single game he appears in I might change my mind- but that was pretty gross take there on 3-2. 1-0. Hopefully that's enough Hunter. I guess the Hummell AB looked good compared to Dubon's. Yikes.
I don't love Dubie as a hitter. I wish he didn't have to play so much. But, I do respect the contact profile and he typically gives a quality AB. That was not one. My goodness, that's as bad an AB as he's had all year I bet.
I think it's time to place a call to Jason Hayward. Or Justin Heyward for that matter, because we got the moody blues as our bench.
Did he not get it going in 2023? Or last year? You think he’s just never “got it going” in his career? You think, after his rough 1st half, he’s done at 26 years old?
I'm likening this team to the WS winning 2015 Royals (yeah I apologize in advance for the horrible flashback). That team locked down win after win if they led going into the 7th inning. Didn't score a ton of runs. Lots of 2-1 and 3-2 victories. Sustained it in the playoffs all the way to a ring. This might sound a little crazy but I think we should go after another quality veteran reliever. It's the cheapest deadline move you can possibly make. Point being, this team won't turn into the 2017 offense when Yordan comes back, not even close to it. Still gonna be a lot of grind it out low scoring games we are gonna need to win.
