I like both Fetterman and Shapiro, and I'm sure there are others. Slotkin sounds fairly reasonable too:

Abigail Spamberger who is running for VA gov I think it is a very likable candidate too for people who aren't ideologically praying to the alter of the Orange Messiah, or Bernie.

The Nov midterms should be interesting because of the diversity of candidates for different states & regions within states. People are making such a huge deal about the NYC Mayoral upset in the primary just because the media likes to ideologically put people in boxes, but I think that's a little silly. I think Mamdani seems like a good politician, and I get the appeal for NYC for sure.

But if FoxNews thinks they'll get someone that far out left to run against in most of these heated Congressional seats in swing districts they have another thing coming to them. There are some very good centrist and more independent Dems running in those elections next year, and they'll be very hard to beat with a MAGA nutcase. I think Independent will be the key word to use.

The candidate who can brand themselves as an outsider like Mamdani is doing is probably going to have the best chance. The voters who buy up all of Trump's demagoguery "COMMUNIST" BS were never serious swing voters to begin with so I don't think the name calling is going to work, and Nov voters will be more swingy than normal with Trumpism wearing so thin.

Fetterman is a bomb thrower, and likes the attention of being a weirdo at times, but he doesn't really concern me. I'm okay with him occasionally taking more Trumpy positions on things, but honestly the thing that does concern me is his mental health, and some of the stories about his personal life, and relationships. I just hope the dude is in a better place mentally than it looks from the outside.

I do think for many reasons when he is up for reelection, I would be surprised if he can fend off a primary. I think his instability could really hurt him, but I think he has time to stabilize who he is, and have a better relationship with pro-democracy voters when they know a bit more about what they are getting from him. The erratic behavior just makes his true base question whether he is trustworthy right now.
