Agreed BUT I think Stone needs to be actively talking to the Bucks and Gianni’s’ team as much as possible in this process.

You have to make sure a rival team does not steal Giannis for nothing and stay open to the possibility of a deal that is too good to pass up if other serious suitors turn out to not be viable and if Gianni’s’ camp turns the screws on the Bucks front office.

I feel like the people here who are like “nope.. not interested” are kinda just showing that they are too worked up over Sengun and can’t think past this zero sum game. It would be GM malpractice for Stone to just sit out talks just because of how likely it would be that Sengun is involved.

Agreed. At least this way any western team interested would be paying a lot more to the Bucks

Yeah this is a fair point, I'm out on Giannis because I think it'll cost us the whole farm, but we definitely have to be in the talks in case it is a bargain deal like KD again because that certainly changes things.

If you make the trade for Giannis does it greatly improve your chances for a championship in the next three years. I don't think you have to sell the whole farm. Probably just Sengun, Tari, Cam, Suns picks.

    This.

You didn't trade for Durant so you can be good in 3-4 years, you traded for him with the intent of winning the championship in the next 2-3 years.

We have the PHX picks to think about the future once Durant is gone.

We can't always be satisfied at just being a solid playoff team....IT'S BEEN 30 YEARS FELLAS SINCE OUR LAST CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Now is the time to take a big swing, take our chances and live with it.

Says something about where we are when us fans hesitate wanting to trade for Giannis...

The worst thing about prospect hugging fans is these weird 10! 12! 15! year windows they throw out with guys.

It's fine if you like the idea of Sengun/Amen/Etc. more than Giannis, but I promise you we will not have a window of 10-15 years with those guys competing. Promise. They'll either be gone because of luxury tax issues, injured, demanding a trade, etc. We aren't keeping a core of players together for 15 years, get real.

And if the Spurs, or Mavs are going to get him we better damn well make sure they gut all of their assets to get him. I know people are going to get worked up about Sengun's name floating around as the centerpiece in this deal, but that ensures that if the Mavs trade for him, Lively, AND Gafford likely have to be included, and with the Spurs I'm guessing Castle and maybe Harper have to be included in that deal along with picks.

If the Rockets are not actively engaged in a Giannis trade deal it could mean that the Spurs or Mavs maybe get Giannis for nothing more than filler salary, and picks. That's just unacceptable from a competitive standpoint. It's mission critical to ensure both of those teams cannot get him on a bargain deal that doesn't include any of their core talent.

Yeah it's very fair tbh, I never even considered that side of things. Probably why I'm a dumbass fan and not a GM I guess haha.

It's not your fault you weren't born with a dad who was an NBA owner or GM.

Yea, the panel weren’t too high on Milwaukee making significant moves to appease Giannis.

Wont be surprised if he’s moved.

Just like the KD deal. Make an offer and stick to it
    Sengun/Landale/Williams/All Suns picks/Mavs pick.

    Keep the Nets pick.

He’s not you to the spurs. The spurs djntwna tit give up assets(Harper or Castle) and the bucks aren’t accepting package of vassell, sochan and Barnes

The same goes for any team in the West. If there is any chance he might be going to a team in the West, Stone needs to be involved to jack up the price.

As you pointed out, they can be traded still leading to future assets later.

I don't think Giannis wants to be a Rocket without Sengun as the 5 playing alongside him. He's mentioned the proposition of wanting a decent to really good 5 to play with so he can be that mobile 4 that isn't always in the paint.
