Saw that KD liked the post about Austin Reaves turning down the Lakers’ max offer… we seriously gotta try to get him
No way we’d be able to sign him next summer. We’d have to trade for him now for his bird rights. Not worth it IMO given what it likely will cost, both to trade for him and resign him.
We could make a few moves to make this happen, but I’m not sure it’s worth it. I value our homegrown players more than overpaying in the FA.
Reeves is gonna opt out next summer and be unrestricted. I don't blame him one bit because he'll get way more than $90 million. Bottom line: He's a one-year rental for whoever he plays for this year, including the Lakers. My guess is they won't trade him because they won't get good value in return under these circumstances. Pelinka missed the boat here because he should have known his team wasn't a legit contender and the Lakers probably could have gotten very good value at the trade deadline from a contender like the Nuggets.
Man, I don't think any team is going to give him nearly $200M, if that team does, I will laugh as they aren't a team serious about contending.
MAX OFFER? Lakers must be on Crack to even offer it Maybe we should inquire about K-Neck Rocket River
Crack? Why do you say that? They offered him the max the CBA allowed them to. Pelinka should have foreseen this happening and traded Reeves in February. He may not get $200M, but he'll get way more than $90M. The Lakers could have avoided this.
The Max the Lakers can offer is 90m in an extension because of his current contract that is why he turned it down. DD
