If we can actually get these guys back PLUS add a legit bat - we will be in a very good place.

Love this team’s vibe so much and I hate to admit it because I’m his biggest critic, freakin’ Espada. I’m not getting ahead of myself but good job guy.

this team fully healthy would be a sight to see

Check out my blog later today on pitcher luck. Gordon has actually been a little unlucky and is probably better than his overall numbers.
I wasn’t expecting that either by the way.

It's amazing he can do what he does while getting almost no ground balls. I wonder if they will up his sinker usage as that pitch has performed rather well so far (.243 xwOBA).

Walter was good in all but one outing, I would like to see if that outing was just a one off....

But we have 4 great pitchers coming back in

McCullers - in about a week
    Garcia - end of July
    Javier - end of July
Arrengetti - after All star break.

I mean, even getting 2 back pushes all of our call up pitchers back to AAA.

I think those guys are gonna take longer than that. My current guesses

    McCullers: July 8th-15th
Garcia, Javier, and France: August 11th-18th
    Arrighetti: August 18th-25th

McCormick, Dezenzo, and Yordan all being injured and capable of playing LF has something to do with it. It's also 40 man roster management, bringing up anyone else in the minors (who hasn't been called up already) would require somebody to get dropped off the 40 man, plus Trammell does not have any options remaining, this is likely his last opportunity to show anything before getting DFA.

I guess maybe Whitcomb could take those AB's at LF, but they probably want to see if Trammell can produce first.

Trammell does the lead the Yankees in all time BA and OBP while also reaching base in every game he has played for the Astros. He is worth a look.

That Arrighetti guess is absolutely revolting considering it's just a freaking thumb, and every report is chomping at the bit, and they told us 6-8 weeks and then everything has been fine.

I wouldn't bring LMJ back before the end of the all star break if you only have him back by July 8th. Why bother with a start before the break? Leave it until afterwards and keep the miles off his arm, imo.

He still hit Walker ahead of Meyers yesterday. But. Yeah. Can't complain about the results all things considered!

Arrighetti has been out long enough that he’s going to require a full 5 start rehab stint that will last 3-4 weeks. He seems like he’s still at least 2 weeks from starting that. So 5-6 weeks. I may be off by a week or so, but I will be very surprised if he is back on an MLB mound before August.

I agree on McCullers, but I just assume he’ll want to just get back as soon as he’s ready. The allstar break just means an extra day or two between starts.

I also think heading closer to the deadline Houston is going to want as much info as possible on their SP, so that may tilt them to be a little more aggressive in getting guys back, but who knows.

I'm off at 2 today 7 minute commute home.
    First pitch at 2:10.
Bong will be lit before first pitch.
    Wife at work till 5.
That's when it's southern Tier IPA time

Hoping the game is as fun as my afternoon is shaping up to be.
And I'm off tomorrow doing some volunteer work so nice three day weekend.
