Why not? If anything, Fred's number makes it MORE likely at least one of those guys is extended.

FWIW I'm in the camp that thinks he looks like a much better version of himself when he's not forced to take as many of our bailout shots or create as many shots for the team.

I suspect 2025/2026 Fred will be a better player than last year.

I would expect Jabari to be that guy. Tari's injury problems suggest a guy that might need to play his contract out to get a new deal.

So they could let Holiday and Jock go, and then use the non-tax mle and stay under the LT, right?

Can't argue with it considering the circumstances.
    Best we could hope for.

    Suck it haters.

I don’t understand people not liking Fred. Dude brings stability and toughness. He won’t have to do quite as much with the team being put together now.

Ah, because it would not be on the books until next year, correct?

Feels like Rockets have incentive to extend Bari sooner rather than later with his larger cap hold and its very possible his efficiency improves even more.

Great deal. Props to Fred for taking a fair deal.

Also like others mentioned. I think he'll have a bounce back year and be closer to what he was when he was with Toronto during their run. Wont be asked to do nearly as much.

    Fred got vanFleeced…
Last year wasn’t his best, and Stone capitalized.
But any way you look it, how do you give FVV 2/50, when you gave Jalen effing Green 3/100 just a year ago? Fred must be peeved…

What do you think would've been the better option? Release him outright? Sign him at lower number? Could it be that we had to increase to 25 to make it only two years?

Why? he just got $6 Million more guaranteed, the market wasn't going to present itself this off-season and now he can opt out next off-season if he outperforms the $$, when more teams have cap space. No brainer for both sides.

Honestly? Huge W for Rockets. I thought Fred would at the very least demand a 3 year contract but instead what we got here is a Win-Win for both sides.

Also, thankful for FVV for taking a discount. If he starts the season off like he did last year, then he'll just be a bit overpaid now instead of massively overpaid.
