This might be Musk preparing the world for Bad Numbers in July with Second Quarter Sales due next week and the Second Quarter Earnings Report coming in late July. By Omead Afshar leaving at the end of the Second Quarter, Musk can assign blame for the upcoming Bad Numbers to him and push/promote the idea that the Third Quarter will be better because the problem (Afshar) has left. It could help the stock price for a bit.. If the overseas sales numbers for July don't show major improvement, then maybe Afshar wasn't the problem.
