    People were fleeing NY/CA in 2020/21 cuz blue states had braindead covid restrictions... since then past couple years both states have seen positive growth while Austin has been imploding... house prices are down double digits in Austin... 2nd highest commercial vacancy in country is Austin.

    You're clueless

    Zohran actually won in the richest areas of nyc... rich folks in nyc are built different. They're not a bunch of p*****s like rich folks in the south

    People up here never forgot three things about Cuomo

    1) He sent people with COVID to nursing homes, basically infecting the most sensitive of populations, and essentially killing the geriatrics. I lived through this being that my career is senior dining

    2) Having his staff on government time write his autobiography.

    3) Got pretty handsy with his female staff.

    I'm upstate and we consider ourselves basically a different state, and do not invest too much time in NYC politics.
    But if you had to resign from being governor for some of the reasons listed above your odds are not great at ever becoming an elected official again.

    If you keep acting like the milquetoast 1980s Republicans whom now control the Democratic party are basically radical Communists, this is what you're gonna get.

    People like this are exactly what the MAGA movement deserve. A match made in hell. Enjoy.

    Every reaction has an equal reaction. It’s the most obvious thing that would happen by people like commodore who vote in R primaries CHOOSING to vote for extremists on the right.

    I don’t equivocate the Bernie left with the MAGA right at all. It’s just wrong to say that socialized healthcare is somehow just as bad as proud boy insurrections to overthrow democracy. However if next November a whole bunch of these Bernie dems get elected over more moderate candidates, it’s only because of a reaction to the brashness of Trump fascism. You do something radical… you’ll get a radical reaction.

    For the 2028 presidential election we’ll see what comes out of that. The entirety of the dem primary crowd imo is way more strategic and practical than the right wing primary crowd across the majority of states. Especially the states that go early in the primaries. So I’m not anticipating a Fidel Castro getting nominated, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Bernie’s predecessor does a whole heck of a lot better this time around.

    And our system will be able to handle a Bernie dem as president given the way our government is funded through congress. If Trumpers allow Trump to further dismantle our system though then all bets are off.

    Here, let me explain why your posts never make sense: Starts in the past, jumps to the future, then switches cities

    If Mamdani becomes mayor, we may see the same type of exodus for financial services as we did from Chicago to Miami. Hopefully Texas is positioned to pick up the fallout... The Texas Stock Exchange needs to be ready and actively recruiting. Delaware went too far with Musk, Chicago went way too far with murders, racial nonsense, and taxes, and NYC has done all of the above AND is close to electing a radical socialist as mayor. Financial services is where TX and FL should target NYC. That's the crown jewel of their economy. And those banks never would have located in NYC had they known this would be the political climate. Tish James took things way too far with her Trump prosecution... and Delaware took things too far with Musk. Now they pay the price.. and the liberal lunatics can rule over the ashes.

    GOOD DAY

    People have been proclaiming the end of New York for decades and it only has become more and more influential; not less. Same for London.

    This will do nothing to the establishment. AOC similarly won her seat in a large upset. It happens.

    Can’t wait to see social workers trying to stop a riot. You clowns in here should all move to NYC. It’s your Shangri-la. Personally, I think you clowns are full of shiit and always gaslighting people. You enjoy the same comfort, security, prosperity, law and order like the next guy, but you had to portray a fake image to tell others just how woke you all are.

    By the Way this was no upset.
    I live 2hrs away.
    Nothing against the city, but it's just a bit to hectic for me.
    I'm good for a day trip to a game or a jaunt to Broadway or one of the museums.
    But any more than an overnight make me anxious.
    Great food everywhere though.

    I was always more of a Galveston person than a Houston person vibe wise.

    Exactly. World class food, entertainment, and museums.

    My only complaints about NYC are the pot smell which covers up the urine smell and the crazies on the subway.

    I’ve been there more than my fair share. Tell those New Yorkers to go back to that amazing city and leave my Florida alone.

    this was honestly a win against AIPAC

    Cuomo had MAGA donors…nobody is falling for this diet republican bullsh*t that many Dems love to do anymore

    majority of the other candidates were running for mayor of Tel Aviv, Mamdani was actually concerned about NY

    When you close your eyes and fantasize, does Trump kiss you softly? Does Musk pull your hair? Both?

    Funny under the radar fact:
    Bill Clinton endorsed Cuomo.

    Clinton= Lewinsky
    Coumo= Lindsey Boyland, sans gak

    Perhaps - or it could be that NYC did not want to elect a bad guy to lead their city. Cuomo was very popular, and he is quite talented and charismatic as a politician - but his personal life is really bad, and that matters to at least some NYC voters.
