So we're playing in the afternoon sun at 42°C in a stadium without roof. Charming. Good thing Kompany sends out the bench.
As much as I think this tournament is dumb and pointless, this is a great story... Auckland school teacher's dream goal stuns Boca Juniors I honestly didn't realize there was legitimately an amateur squad in this tournament. I just thought there was a club from OFC and this is what would happen to them. This is the risk but temps like that in Charlotte are not normal. There's a massive heat dome sitting over much of the eastern half of the country right now. Also, many of the stadiums that are to be in use next year are domed or at are in northern climates. The only 2 sites that should be an issue is Miami and Orlando. Both outdoor stadiums in Florida in June/July. Those will be miserable. Kansas City might be rough, too. The rest are either covered or in more northern sites. This is, of course, assuming the US doesn't do something incredibly stupid between now and then and forces FIFA to move the US portion of the tournament...which, even with Infant-ino's relationship with trumpybear, isn't out of the realm of possibility.
That is the single most interesting news I have come across in years, more power to them....... Great stuff.
Finally downloaded DAZN to watch PSG obliterate Inter Miami. What a terrible app. If you do free, it has constant pop ups in the middle of the screen. When you try to close that, it backs out of the game entirely and the. You have to watch 6 ads before it gets back to the game. Missed the 2nd goal because of it.
This tournament is one huge slap in the face for FIFA. Empty stadiums, many delays due to weather... the host cities for next year should really be up for reconsideration. Can't allow that on the biggest stage. Fully expect seven European teams in the Quarters now. Good to know, thx. I kinda saw that coming and never registered in the first place.
Well, that didn't work out. Embarrassing for Inter and City. Should be a clear case now for whoever makes it to the final out of Bayern/PSG/Real. On the other hand my predictions have been pretty off so far.
Rest in peace Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva. What terrible news to wake up to. https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_...-diogo-jota-brother-die-car-crash-civil-guard
Brutal. In the past few weeks he won the Premier League, won the Nations League, got married and then all of a sudden it's over. Feel terribly bad for him and his family, RIP.
Hindsight but if you race in a racing car, don't do it with your brothers, sisters, your folks...... Don't expose them to the same danger. RIP. Tragedy that also his brother has passed.
Sorry, man, but where did I not pay my condolences. Read before you judge, man, drink less. I don't drive because the things happening on highways, so my license is moot. Spoiler clearly stated in European medias, the speed was high and they were overtaking cars and then tire popped. If you want to vent, vent somewhere else. My concern was that his brother should not have been involved, that is all.
1. Do you know why they were driving? He just had surgery and was advised to not fly. 2. Do you know the speed limit where he was driving? Plently places in Europe you can drive up to 80 or 100mh even more. From what I know he was doing 75-78. 3. The tyre popped, I'm not sure how that would just eqaute to speeding just being the primary factor. 4. Diogo was recently married thats probably why his brother was with him, rest of his family took a plane but his brother kept him company for the long drive. Not even confirmed who was driving by the way.
Dude, I feel your pain, but you coming in here responding to something that has happened 1-2 days ago. Times have passed since then. I was WTF....I have already moved on. I wasn't talking about Diogo, I was talking about his family clan, they should have advised against his brother and him sitting in the same car if that is possible. He is a millionaire, he can easily hire a driver, or someone. A car that is easily going in flames, that is not normal, there has to be some malpractice or some things going on, so I am not commenting on that, people should just be careful in these times. Were the tires too old, safety measures not following protocol, there is just too much there. This is the first time I heard about a footballer's car tire blown and car immediately going up in flames, or have you encountered this?
