Yes, I'm conflicted. I have mixed feelings. I see the positives from this move, but concerns remain as well. Further moves need to be made in order to solidify the team.

Yes I think one major issue coming is that we're going to see Durant less consistent than he's ever been (still about as efficient on average) because with 2 non-shooters on the floor, an even bigger chunk of his offense is going to be jumpers which tends to cause bigger swings in efficiency. He's undoubtedly going to get fewer easy 2's than he's ever experienced.

The good thing about Durant is he understands the game very well and is very vocal, so the days of Udoka being unchallenged by a bunch of kids are behind us.

Finally got through all 65 pages of this thread... goddam.

Was against trading for KD, but that was under the assumption that we'd have to give up more than we did (and also with draft day approaching, I got a little too attached to some prospects like Coward). But the actual trade couldn't have been any better :)

Getting rid of Jalen is addition by subtraction (finally got rid of him, KPJ, and Cwood). And if we wanted to get off of Jalen's contract in the future, it likely would have required a future first rd pick.

Amazing value for KD all things considered - kept all of the main core players, plus all those future picks. We are one of the deepest teams in the league still. And if KD takes a discount for an extension... man great time to be a Rockets fan right now.

Felt the same way from p1-40. I was real-time the rest of the way on this runaway train!

Total speculation on my part, but there was a report KD wanted to put together a group for a WNBA team in Austin (Hence the original SAT rumors). what if he does that in Houston (Hell maybe with TF) to bring back the Comets? I think that would be great for our city and solidify his legacy/investments past his playing days--also fits with the "partner theme" that Shams mentioned.

They were never going to be able to keep Jalen and re-sign Jabari, Tari, and Amen.

the most underrated part of this trade is that we'll actually have real national tv games and not NBATV mandatory sympathy games. god knows we weren`t gonna have any next season after our first round exit.

Man, I would have taken the Garland offer if I were the Suns. A Garland / Booker backcourt would have been solid.

I guess Phoenix really, really, really, REALLY wanted their pick back.

This is either bs to boost Jalen’s value ( chose him over garland) or he was offered last summer or at the trade deadline.
If bane is worth 4 firsts garland is worth at least that. What we gave up was probably worth 2 .

He already bought into newly Europa Champions League winner Paris SG......and help them with their basketball team.

His investments aren't and shouldn't stay local......expanding world wide instead.

That is why his other preferred team were the Spurs and their French connection....that he wanted to use for his projects....coming off the Paris Olympics.

Wemby will have that big French pie for himself.

But there's no significant roster change, so where is the "bust" part if we don't win a chip? In several years all our main core will be entering their own primes, its not like we mortgaged our known future for a star. Jalen was always "potential" but truth is he was highly replaceable and we didnt lose much youth. I wasnt on the KD wagon and I was still good with building our known core, but nothing about this says championship or bust.
