I don’t think the Rockets are going to do anything much. If they can manage their cap right another tweak or two to the bench on cheap contracts. We should be extremely competitive next year when Durant is healthy. It is deflating to me, that with this new lineup we are doubling down on slow methodical offense and superior defense, because I think it would have been more fun to get into a more wide open system. I don’t think there is any doubt about making the playoffs and having a chance at progressing with Durant healthy.

After watching Harden quit on every single team hes been on, you have the audacity to want him BACK?

To me, if a better star becomes available, Durant's ancient ass ought to be the matching salary. I'll be pretty upset if either Sengun or Amen get moved. Hell, I don't even want to see Bari moved for somebody other than Shai, Ant or Luka. If they're over 30, I don't want our young guys traded for them. Jalen was fine. Most of us were out on him anyway. But the rest of the guys? We all endured a long and painful road to acquire all of this young talent. Did we do it for a 1-2 year window before we have to do it all over again?

I guess the question: what is the tipping point for folks to say 'that's too much'?
    Let's assume your starting point:
Sengun, Vanvleet (for matching money), 2027 first round pick, 2029 both picks
    AND
    1 more of the young core (Tari/Jabari/Whitmore/Reed) #Amen off-liimts

I would pull that trigger (especially if it's Whitmore or Tari) but probably not if you add another core player

Hopefully it won’t be a Barkley situation again. But unlikely in my opinion. Getting Giannis means massive gutting and reorganizing

sengun and giannis doesn't work. now if alpy was really a baby jokic and could shoot like him that could definitely work. but giannis, alpy and amen? come on. station them on the left side of the paint, the middle and the right?

I think we should make a small deal. Pick up a vet backup pg or sg, and trade for Robert Williams or maybe a stretch big to play on nights Adams is out

People forget that Kevin Durant lead the suns to a 13-2 record before he went down with an injury.

With this team and how much depth we have, we can easily surpass that and also let KD rest more. He’s going to mentor Jabari Smith and Tari Eason as well.

We also still have the Suns unprotected 2027 and 2029 picks.

John Collins would be a nice pickup and slide Jabari to center for a few minutes when Adams is out. I do think there is merit to signing a bench combo guard, although if Reed or Cam pan out, FVV could be that bench combo guard. Just don’t think Cam or Reed is going to perform good enough to push FVV to the bench this year. I’m completely out on Giannis. We should only be getting young upcoming stars now that we have Durant. You can’t have 2 supermax players in their declining years and gut your youth to get one of them.

If he becomes available, the only star player to mortgage the farm for should be ANT!!!

I really don't want us to trade more of our kids for another aging star. We lucked out on only needing to ship out Jalen for KD, we can't **** up now and make a bad trade. As hilarious as it'd be watching the exodus of Sengun fans that didn't actually happen with the Green trade amongst all the gloating, I'd rather we keep him and make moves with our much less important pieces (ie FVV.)

I think Durant has one good year ahead of him (next season)....If you trade any of the young players, all your doing is trying to buy/rush your way into a championship instead of growing into one, we've all see how this story ends...Rockets have good young talent and picks and some good tradable contracts...I personally would be patient and let the young players grow.

This has Udoker's imprints all over it........Udoker is not a player developer per se, he can be if he sets his mind to it but he obviously does not want to.

He is very good at teaching Defense but as an overall coach he is not infallible. Period.

Him playing Fred 40 minutes per game shows he is partial as hell and is susceptible to favoritism.

People are conflating what the Rockets can theoretically do and what they will be trying to do. They can expand this trade into something bigger where they grab another star player. But it's very unlikely they do so given that the Bucks are trading Giannis and there's not really much out there on the market. The only other player that may be available is Derrick White but he's not a star and will also be very expensive.
