As a fan that was a dick punch as much as any other sports moment I can remember, considering it was a game 7 and it looked like a night when Hali was on his game. It obviously affected a lot of his teammates. You would hope that they could set it aside (and TJ & Mathurin did), but maybe that's too much to ask of normal human beings. The way to handle OKC pressure was to have essentially two PGs on the court at all times, among Hali, Nembhard, and McConnell. Having only one out there at many times was fatal.

That was horrible, more horrible even than the Durant leg destruction because Durant had already won a couple & cemented his legacy at that point.

I knew it was way more than just the calf sprain the second he went down. You could see both the agony and the sheer frustration that he knew 100% he was done. Of all the Pacers I really feel for the kid, he came to play and I genuinely think they probably win it if this doesn't happen. They came a lot closer than we did with Chris Paul's hamstring. Tip my hat to these Pacers, what an incredible playoff run this year, sucks they couldn't cap it off.

When I saw that snap of the calf, that's when you knew it was the achilles. Crazy that we've seen three of those in the playoffs this year.

Now can we trade for him? Or TJ?

I'd love if we could steal TJ off them tbh. Dude's shown he'd be hugely valuable for a championship contender, and we genuinely need more in our backcourt.

It's also crazy that Dame, Tatum, and Hali all happen to wear number 0 too.

What would yall do if you had a relatively minor injury that could likely result in another injury that only* 70-90% make a full recovery AND it takes 2-3 years to get back to pre injury athleticism? Would you risk a full year of playing to play 2 games in the Finals? Up to 30% you won't get back to athletic level...

Should the team have stopped him? Now they're on the hook for his salary and that hit on cap space rendering it dead (I'm guessing they have some kind of insurance to cut the actual dollar loss).

20/20 hindsight but the moment they mentioned at the beginning of Game 6 the KD similarity and his outcome, I had a bad feeling.

He's got that dog in him. Would love to see him raise our puppy (ie, Reed).

I've had a calf muscle "pop" (tear) on me in an unexpected moment. It felt weird and pretty bad, but I knew exactly what it was and it didn't make cry in agony. As soon as they showed the replay, it was clear his Achilles had snapped causing his calf to ripple.
