A 33 mil Sixth Man? Nah Im either trading Beal or if he wont let me trade him we are gonna sit him until he does want a trade. Book would be point jalen would start because I need him to get better. So im giving him all the minutes and I hope he learns from booker.

I think reports are that Beal's just happy living in Phoenix, playing basketball for fun, and having $100+ million. He's living the life with his NTC.

Interesting question, who trades for Beal, if you could, given 2yr $110M remaining on contract? Who eats that now even if the no trade clause wasn't an issue. I think Suns would have to package picks to get off of it and maybe only taker to rent cap space is Nets. I wish we when we were stuck with Wall instead we could have had the cap space for a trade like that (OKC did this with Horford and Galinari) and say to the Suns we will take Beal and 2 1sts with nothing going back to the Suns.

Unpopular opinion but I thought we should have gotten rid of Amen instead of Jalen. Non-shooting players are huge negatives in the playoffs.

Yeah this is a horrible take.

By percentages, Jalen was a non-shooting player in the playoffs too. So there goes your argument.

Not an unpopular opinion but one of the worst opinions in my 27 years on this board. Your boy shot 37% from the field and 29% from 3. He was indeed a huge negative in the playoffs.

Prime Jalen Green is an MVP candidate. But he only plays up to that level occasionally.

I would not be surprised that if in 5 years Green is amongst the top 3-5 players in the league. He has developed his defensive tenacity, and that has led to his ineffectiveness on offense. As he continues to get his endurance into all-star level, he will get his offense back to elite.

But the Durant trade was the best thing to happen to the Rockets. They just made themselves the favorites, and it came at a pivotal time.

San Antonio is 2-3 years away from juggernaut mode. Dallas will be on another level when Kyrie gets back after next season.

Honestly, while I was iffy on this when I heard and wasn't down for shaking up our core for an aging KD, the more I look over this the more I like it.

I was too connected to the "potential" of Jalen Green. In reality, from a consistent value perspective, he was the 3rd best asset in this Rockets trade package (behind #10 and yes, Brooks) and can give you 1 great games and then disappear for months. Does he always get a little better each year? Sure, and I hope he breaks out one day, but after last year's playoffs... I think he's a future great 6th man, but not a perennial all-star and worth really building around. He's not Him. He has moments... but he cannot be relied on.

Brooks was good 3&D with a surprising inside game, but he could be problematic and sometimes his choices were risky and frustrating on the court.

KD even in his late 30s is still one of the best scorers on the league, is still a better than average defender, and had length. He has the closer mentality that we were missing, and even if he DOESNT workout, we didn't mortgage our future and so the runway is still solid. Playing spots opened up for our deep roster, and we got rid of JG's contract. Hopefully we can extend KD, but its a great thing to feel like events if this doesnt pan out, we didn't give up the team or our future for him at all.

I think we're immediately better, and similarly to the jump we made from last season, we're hopping over a couple rebuilding years by adding someone like him.

If this was the path then its an A+ of a deal for the Rockets. If anyone believes we gave away too much, I think you're overvaluing our package.

Problem he won't get into the MVP convo with games against the Wizards, Utah and so on......

I remember Dragic going from the Rockets back to the Suns and he made 1 single All Star game I remember in Miami.

Maybe, but other offers likely wouldn't have players like those. Reed is effectively a top 5 pick with as limited his playing time was.

Also have to have an expiring contract and not taking back long term money for role players...

Might not be a better offer without taking bad contracts back... they aren't getting Evan Mobley or Scottie Barnes for him. Teams trading for him are trying to win and don't want to move their best 1 or 2 players, they want to pair them...

You take back 2 bad, but smaller contracts for role players.

What if it was Lonzo Ball and Vucevic for Beal and some #2s?

What if they traded him for Lillard?

Maybe a Lillard/Booker backcourt does something a year later if he can recover?

Beal helps Giannis next year if he's staying. Lillard isn't going to play.

So 4 seasons isn't enough to do that?

No. I would take Jabari out of the trade and add another first round pick. I would definitely check in on Sengun’s 3 pt shot before making the trade. If he develops a 35% 3pt shot with no hesitancy he will be a top tier all-star and you don’t do it.
