Weatherspoon was more productive in fewer minutes. Not as tall as Outlaw, but a bigger body, and actually isn't a catastrophe on the offensive end.
Okay, here is the masterplan . Houston trades: PF Maurice Taylor (11.5 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 27.8 minutes) SG Reece Gaines (1.8 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 9.6 minutes) Houston receives: PG Antonio Daniels (8.0 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 4.2 apg in 21.3 minutes) SF Rashard Lewis (17.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.2 apg in 36.6 minutes) Change in team outlook: +12.5 ppg, +2.4 rpg, and +3.9 apg. Seattle trades: PG Antonio Daniels (8.0 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 4.2 apg in 21.3 minutes) SF Rashard Lewis (17.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.2 apg in 36.6 minutes) Seattle receives: PF Maurice Taylor (11.5 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.4 apg in 75 games) SG Reece Gaines (1.8 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 38 games) Change in team outlook: -12.5 ppg, -2.4 rpg, and -3.9 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Houston and Seattle being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Seattle had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Obviously, we would have to include 1 first-round pick, 1 second-round pick and the maximum amount allowed in cash with this. Then - waive Barrett, sign Outlaw. Roster: PG: Daniels, Ward, Lue SG: T-Mac, JJ, Sura SF: Lewis, JJ, Bowen, Boki PF: Howard, Outlaw, Weatherspoon, Padgett C: Yao Ming, Mutombo, Outlaw
I know that's a dream. But still, damn! That's a kick-ass team! When I look at that team, at no point would I say, "Man, I wish *that* guy didn't have the ball..." Each player would be a joy to watch/create. A true five-point attack. A TEAM!
I like Outlaw, and I like that proposed team. I approved this message, and you have my permission to proceed with both deals. But why would Seattle trade Rashard Lewis for Mo Taylor? Not likely.
Wow, only if we could waive Spoon, then things would look good on the boards. Lock and load and get him on the team.
i'd be all for it, pull a trade with other pf's got (i say keep mo) but i bet we wont since he was never a knick, j/k, or am i : (
Alternatively, if we really want to keep Mo, we could do this one... Houston trades: PF Juwan Howard (17.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 2.0 apg in 35.5 minutes) SF Bostjan Nachbar (3.1 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.7 apg in 11.5 minutes) SG Reece Gaines (1.8 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 9.6 minutes) Houston receives: SF Rashard Lewis (17.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.2 apg in 36.6 minutes) PG Antonio Daniels (8.0 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 4.2 apg in 21.3 minutes) Change in team outlook: +3.9 ppg, -1.1 rpg, and +2.6 apg. Seattle trades: SF Rashard Lewis (17.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.2 apg in 36.6 minutes) PG Antonio Daniels (8.0 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 4.2 apg in 21.3 minutes) Seattle receives: PF Juwan Howard (17.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 2.0 apg in 81 games) SF Bostjan Nachbar (3.1 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.7 apg in 45 games) SG Reece Gaines (1.8 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 38 games) Change in team outlook: -3.9 ppg, +1.1 rpg, and -2.6 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Then pick up Outlaw. Roster: PG: Daniels, Ward, Lue SG: T-Mac, JJ, Sura SF: Lewis, JJ, Bowen PF: Taylor, Outlaw, Weatherspoon, Padgett C: Yao Ming, Mutombo, Outlaw
Hers what we do! Houston trades: SF Clarence Weatherspoon (5.0 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 0.6 apg in 16.7 minutes) PF Juwan Howard (17.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 2.0 apg in 35.5 minutes) Houston receives: SF Glenn Robinson (16.6 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.9 minutes) Change in team outlook: -5.4 ppg, -6.4 rpg, and -1.2 apg. Philadelphia trades: SF Glenn Robinson (16.6 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.9 minutes) Philadelphia receives: SF Clarence Weatherspoon (5.0 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 0.6 apg in 52 games) PF Juwan Howard (17.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 2.0 apg in 81 games) Change in team outlook: +5.4 ppg, +6.4 rpg, and +1.2 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Next year when glen comes of the books use the money to get a PG.
ooh, and we were so close to the season starting without another thread about the most recently available guy and how we need to pick him up. edit: nevermind, big dog would've slipped in under the wire anyway.
Hasn't Lewis been benched in Seattle? I heard he was, but then I also heard he was hurt. If he was benched, seems like he could be there for the taking.
I love this guy.....at a Rockets game last year during halftime my gf and I, along with some others, were picked to play "Let's Make a Deal" on the court. You could either shoot a free throw and if you make it you win a trip to San Antonio to see the Rockets and Spurs play and a hotel, or you could pick a bag/box and win what's inside. The grand prize was a trip to L.A. to see the game. I was lucky enough to win the one to L.A. and my gf was last and she knew there probably wasn't much good stuff left in the boxes and bags so she had decided she was going to shoot the free throw for the San Antonio trip. Well she knew she couldn't make it so the guy said she could shoot a layup, but she knew she couldn't make that either and would just embarrass herself. Well then our man comes out. Bo Outlaw walks up and says I'll shoot a layup for her. He took the ball, dunked it, and won a trip to San Antiono for us. He's been one of my favorites ever since then....how can I not like him? Pugs
