Whitmore is next man up, he is a size advantage at SG while having the athleticism to keep up with shorter guards. This is his time to show what he can really do if he still sucks ass we should trade him mid season.
Do or die for Cam now. There's a reason why he wasn't traded--it seems like the team believes in him and his potential. After being his biggest stan in his rookie year, year 2 was rough for me and I kind of got swept into the whole "Cam has attitude issues" thing. But a part of me thinks that he's just socially awkward at times. Jalen's departure opens up time for a lot of players, but for Cam especially, now is the time for him to show us what he's made of. It's MFing time!
Or saving it for a follow up trade, I do think Durant would want more veteran shooters......maybe Royce O'Neal etc.
If we trade Cam for Royce O'Neal right now, I think I might literally cry! He finally has his shot to shine here, and I hope we allow him to at least TRY.
If Cam is given the same level opportunity Jalen was at worst he will be a good trade asset, at best he will be a solid rotation player. He needs tough love and playing time though.
Do you mean the first two years under Silas? Or these last two under Ime? Because the “opportunity” Jalen got didn’t come without significant work and improvement as a player. Ime held him accountable. If he didn’t hustle on defense every play, he didn’t play. Maybe Cam gets that “opportunity” when he starts playing harder on both ends and doesn’t become a black hole when he touches the ball.
I don't know if we are done, but I am not sure Cam's salary is high enough to net another good player, so we would need to include other assets. I would think Stone is done for now. DD
I would trade Cam with Nique clifford. Niq is a better fit and he can immediately contribute. Cam has all the talent to become an all star but this is not gonna happen in our team.
The flood of trades league wide is starting to come by Draft day now that teams target minor targets after Durant has been dealt.
I don’t know much about Cam’s game as he hasn’t seen much time on the floor. My impression is he’s a prolific scorer but not highly aware or looking to play within a system. I’ve heard others say he’s just not reading or looking for the PnR. I’m curious what others think who have observed him more. I imagine he’ll get more burn now so curious what type of player he’ll be or how he could realistically expand his game with the extra minutes.
I kinda want Cam to start over Jabari for these reasons: 1) Makes our offense more dynamic where Cam is more of a threat off-dribble than Jabari...in addition, Cam is a great slasher to the basket - Sengun and Amen would find him on the weak side...too many times when Jabari gets a switch on smaller guy within the flow of offense, he doesn't punish his defender...elects for fadeaway or pop out for perimeter shot 2) Makes our team more dynamic on fastbreak...capitalize with our athleticism in Amen, KD, Cam pushing the fastbreak...plus, Cam finishes better at the rim than Jabari 3) Reed and Jabari combination would be more efficient than Reed and Cam a) Reed and Jabari pick-n-roll/pick-n-pop action would work great with our 2nd unit...too many times when I see Reed and Cam in action together, the ball gets sticky with Cam...Reed elects to pop out in perimeter to have Cam create action for Reed to get open shot. I believe Reed is more efficient with pick-n-roll action.
