Could we use the MLE and sign Harden with it for a four year deal and then guarantee 10 million in the third and fourth year while making those team options?

so essentially if we give up on him after year two we cut him and he gets $20 million.

Maybe this helps to bridge the gap as I’ve seen it speculated the clipper signed him into a two-year offer near 75 million

You can't do both a team option and actually pay him after not exercising the option
Or 4 years with the MLE (I think) - 3 years is the max.
If he was getting money on the side, it would count against the cap anyway

Why are people so intent on taking a promising roster full of young, talented players and bringing in past-their-prime vets to take their minutes? Sacrifice years of contending for a couple of 2nd-round exits?

Who’s next? Brook Lopez? Taj Gibson? Kyle Lowry?

    This forum has daddy issues.
