Probably been said before, but I like Stone doing the Morey thing and chasing superstars lol. Except in a more thoughtful way.

Top tier firepower is what we've been missing and now we got a Top 10 player on our team. WHO DAT!!

Yeah yeah... just like Green has learned from his mistakes every year to date.... career trajectory trending towards 6th man - have to cash in before it is too late

That is not the only way. It would suck if Kevin is a shell of himself in the next year. I hope that it doesnt happen.

Hopefully Durant will stay healthy and does not screw up the chemistry. I am glad Jalen is gone and hopefully his only fans are signing up for the Suns messageboard now.

Bro had below average TS% for 4 straight years lol. He doesn't have the BBIQ to become a great player.

It's funny. The national sports talk radio take on the Houston air is treating this like we were the clear losers in the trade.

I get out of church. Have lunch with my wife and kid. Turn on one of the local sportstalk and the first thing I hear is, "Phoenix definitely won this trade." I Iisten a little more and learn the terms. Commerical. I switch to another station and it's the same narrative. Except this time the "personality" is laying out the narrative of how KD had to win with GSW. Wasn't happy and went to Brooklyn. Ruined that team. Got traded to PHX. A team that came within a game of winning it all a few years before. And then he ruined PHX. I'm like WT literal F. Morons. These weren't the locals. I think the locals are going to be very excited. I think even the local curmudgeons Charlie Palillo and Adam Wexler are going to trumpet Stone's win.
    • We didn't give up anything of real value. Brooks was important last season but he's not supposed to be the guy going forward and KD is a major upgrade anyway. Even old KD is 150% of DB.
    • What we did give up was the 10th pick. And a bunch of 2nd rounders which...ok.
    • We still have the 2027 unprotected 1st round pick. That's the best part. If PHX doesn't turn it around we might still land Booker anyway down the road.
    • Oh yea. And we included JG. But in my book, and I think the stats bear this out, we might have just added by subtraction.
I know I'm not really adding anything that hasn't been said a million times. We know that we won this trade by a country mile as it currently stands. I just wanted to call the national talking heads morons.

And one more thing. Those teams KD went to he had to share the lead scorers role. Here that's not going to be the case. He steps into a top 5 defense without a clear scoring 1A. Would anyone be surprised, if he stays healthy*, if he ends next season competing for the scoring title? I won't.

The Athletic gave it an A+. ESPN a B+. Both had us “winning”.
radio blowhards are just trying to do the “I really GET basketball and winning” hot take. Ignore them.

I am so stoked that neither Jabari Smith nor Reed Shepherd were included in the trade…..

Overall, I think this simply expresses a new truth in the NBA: tanking doesn't work anymore. With how young players are entering the draft, if you play the tank game, you just end up being the Wolves and the 76ers forever. You get players that need development for 4+ years and then you have a logjam of maybes that want too much money for their potential and not their productivity. Realistically, Green should have been drafted last year, but we essentially developed him so that Phoenix could draft him this year. Most players aren't peaking until they are 25, so you can sit back and watch players get developed and then sign them in FA after they've shown what their raw talents are. This is where Ime is invaluable, as he has the horseflesh eye to size any player up and know what he can polish them into. So you follow Ime's lead. Sign the work ethic crew, and keep your eyes open for potential development. OKC and Indiana built intelligently. OKC saw the generational talent and work ethic of SGA and built it all around him. Indiana has been building their team for years and really got lucky with Halliburton. The key is to not be LA and not be Philadelphia but to be somewhere in-between like Boston and Denver. As TLC eloquently stated: Don't go chasing waterfalls.

Length will be better.. we lost 2 good on ball defenders. Foot speed could be a challenge against some teams

Yes, Jalen has turned into a good on-ball defender. He had trouble with bigger wings, but was good at staying with smaller players
