Unless the team has full faith in Reed and Cam, I gotta expect we are gonna make a move at the guard spot to strengthen up the rotation.

This feels like one of those trades that is only good if KD doesn't get seriously injured and the Rockets win the championship in the next season or two. Rockets are pushing all their chips in with a move like this.

don't know about the "a guy who can’t stay healthy and is 37" (I'd say one of the best of all time and still performing at an elite level), but Rockets absolutely organizationally admitting they didn't get this JG pick right. If we picked Mobley, he's likely untouchable in this kind of trade.

Exactly...good riddance. After that playoff performance Jalen put on after the franchise catered to him the first 4 years of his career and no real improvement? This is a move the Rox needed to make. Jalen was a negative player and a negative asset so it's good they were able to get this deal done.

He made huge strides defensively and works at his craft. It's not crazy to say experience in the post season would prepare him for his future success. Brooks and Green go to PHX and are already the best defenders on that roster.

I don’t see this as all in at all. We still have a ton of Phoenix picks. Gave up the least valuable of the “core” and a massive upgrade at SF with KD over Brooks.

I’m always hesitant taking on an older guy. That said, his shooting percentages are historical. Holding on to that mess of first round capital from 2027 forward actually gives a chance to reload on the fly as Durant hopefully ages like fine wine. If he is not a sixth man popping off for 15 in ten minutes at 41 it will be because he chose to walk away.

Udoker forgive me for saying this: you do not need elite defense when you have a scorer that gets it at the rate Durant does.

Already posted my thoughts on Green and Dillon in the appreciation thread, but this is a bittersweet moment and I wish them well. That being said, I'm a huge fan of the deal. Kept Bari, Tari, Reed and all of the valuable future firsts. How they handle KD's extension will be critical and his age and injury history are obviously a concern, but this immediately fills some huge holes offensively and allows them to add at least one more core young guy to the starting 5.

They should be better next year on both ends of the floor, barring major injury, and this could start a window of the Rockets being serious contenders again. Gotta give Stone some props for pulling this off. But they need to deliver now and bring home a title.

I don’t know what your comments have been on the issue specifically, but it was pretty general consensus that the Silas era was detrimental and counterproductive to the development of our young guys. If we recognize that? Why don’t we consider that when evaluating Green? He was always a bit raw and immature as a player, holistically. His first two years did nothing to break his bad habits under a weak coaching system. And in his two years with Ime, he significantly improved overall as a player on both ends. Not star level improvement, but you had to really break his bad habits and almost build from scratch. So it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Green becomes a late bloomer.

He didn’t have a bad regular season. It was fairly good. And the previous season, first with Ime, he had a fantastic, dominant in fact, close to the season. He said completely **** the bed in his VERY first playoff experience.

You may write him off completely as a future franchise player if he can **** the bed that badly in any playoff game, let alone an entire series minus one game. But I think that kind of embarrassment motivates a player. Much like the Harden defense narrative motivated him. And remember Haliburton just had a 6 point playoff game in a critical finals game.

I wish we kept Dillon. Other than that I'm satisfied.

I’ve been wanting Durantula on my Rockets since he was wearing burnt orange. Welcome back to Texas, KD!

see you later alligator Jalen Green! Hopefully we see you in the playoffs soon so we can admire that disappearing act you’ve refined!

I’m so excited how this trade spells out more minutes and a bigger role for Tari, my favorite player.

KD and Adams reunited and it feels so good!

This is a squad. Udoka needs to loosen the leash and trust Reed a lot more in year 2. Same for Bari…he needs more shots and more burn.

we are going to be really really really really good next year right from the get. So stoked.
