With respect, you may have confirmation bias. It may be helpful to go back and watch some tape and see what actually happens out there? Fred has a lower usage % than all of Jalen, Alpy, Tari, and Sheppard. He is 0.2% above Amen in usage %. [There are also other garbage time guys with higher usage, but they are not relevant since they don't usually play under normal circumstances] FVV doesn't just "dribblenout the shot clock" - his primary usage is in high PnT sets with Alpy, where he unlocks Alpy. Go check the stats on Alpy without FVV, and ask whether there is a reason he struggles. Jalen has the highest usage. Changing to a different low use PG has immense risk, as does finding a lower use PG, or finding a higher use PG who aims at setting up Green. The risk is losing the Alpy connection in the high PnR, and overfocussing on feeding an already high use guy who doesn't deliver. I'm not here to defend FVV, I just don't believe you have the right narrative on him (and frankly it is tiring seeing you spout it everywhere). The biggest playoff problem was not FVV. It was our 2 young "stars" not being able to put the ball in the hoop, or make free throws down the stretch.
They don’t need just a shooter. I swear you guys didn’t watch any of the 4th quarters this season and the playoffs. They need a dude who can get buckets when it matters from anywhere. They have nothing like that on this team. As nice as Amen is it’s not likely he becomes that at least not for a few years.
From year 1 to year 2 did you see improvement? From year 2 to year 3 I'll bet you there will be another leap to a higher level. Give the young guys at least one more year to get better. We can make a trade but don't get too desperate to a point where you've handcuffed and handicapped yourself.
I saw no jump from Jalen Green. There isn’t anyone else on this roster outside Amen that has star potential. You need a guy who can score in this league. Look at the teams who advanced in the playoffs everyone of them has a guy that can get his shot off anytime anywhere in the 4th. We’re talking about trading Green, 10 and one of Eason or Smith. It’s a no brainer.
Problem is they want more than that. You offer one thing and they want more. KD will play half the games and hopefully stay healthy during the playoffs. Pheonix can kick rocks. Make a different trade and bring someone else in closer to FVV and Brooks age.
Jalen can't make the jump because his handle is too weak and his court vision is quite poor. When he gets on the drive attack, his focus isn't on where the bail out options are, it is on how to get all the way to the ring. Passing out is 1 dimensional in that it is almost always in the straight line of sight. So team attack him from his blind side to varying degrees of success. All said, considering his limitations he has serious gifts too which could be developed further, but the vision doesn't tend to magically appear
I believe we have to get up to $43.6m (JG is 33.3m, so the assumption is the rest of the deal is salary filler (Jock 8m, plus Aaron 4.9m or Nate 2.2m).
didnt work in the trade machines I tried but maybe they are wrong. the suns dont even want jalen so thats not gonna be enough for them. anyways I dont think this trade should be considered at all. I think Stone should make it public that the Rockets are out on KD talks.
Here's what I can gather after listening to Rox/Suns podcasts/posts, it's down to HOU/MIA (assuming SA doesn't re-enter talks). Rox holding firm at these base offers for KD (+2yr ext, so 54.7m/61m/61m)... Offer #1: Jalen, #10, Jock, Holiday (agreed before the draft, Rox draft who PHX wants at #10, trade executed July 1st, would involve a 3rd team to take Jalen and send a center to PHX) Offer #2: Brooks, #10, Cam, Jock, Holiday (agreed before draft, Rox draft who PHX wants at #10, wait 30 days after drafted player signs contract, then trade executed, ~end of july) Looking like this: If MIA puts Ware in their offer, then we'll have to put Jabari in our offer to beat that. Supposedly PHX wants to decide by Sunday.
well i'm no capologist... but i trust what u r putting out there... So, yeh... if we can basically upscale Green or Brooks to KD and run it back for the next 3 years... I think thats a reasonable move to make. Barring injury, i think it makes us def post season contenders... and our roster is young enough that if it doesnt work - there's still plenty of career to be had for most of our guys beyond the next 3 years....
If we don't hear anything on a KD trade by the end of Sunday and PHX's "deadline" passes, that likely means that all teams are holding firm with their base offers. Really good news for us, increasing the chance that we get KD for just one rotation player and the #10. I'd be very pleased with that low-risk gamble.
It would be tragi comical if Durant comes here and we have a down year and he is trying to leave again.
If KD doesn't end up on our team for a bag of chips, then I hope he goes to the East. We don't need his bum ass on another rival team competing against us in the playoffs.
