Just like harden's and his step back 3s, peña perfected the jump throw.

I still remember peña would try to do this in his 2nd year or 3rd year but would sometimes airmail the throw or not enough power behind the throw and it would be late.

    Now, he got it down.

Before the board goes completely off the rails and starts reserving World Series tickets, let's remember a few things. First, the Astros are playing one of the worst teams in baseball. Second, their stadium is smaller than some Little League stadiums, and the Astros haven't even won the series yet.

    I'm somewhere in the middle.
we are missing a lot of parts that will help once they return.
But we also have position player and pitchers achieving levels of play they have never achieved.
So, I expect a little regression from them.

I wil say to your "we are playing lesser teams right now".
Thats because we had a hard schedule in the beginning of the season.
Our division is basically like a political candidate running unopposed.

The beauty is when the real rubber meets the road in September, the death star should be at full capacity.
So I would reserve for the ALCS as a 2nd tier option.

Astros play the Phillies, Cubs and Dodgers in 3 of the next 5 series.

As soon as I saw him throw, I thought "well, it was a good try at least."

I mean, Walker didn't even have to stretch. Defensive play of the year so far.

Long term, I'm still in the "let's just win the division and see what happens" frame of mind. But A's or no A's, this team is just different from the team that got swept by Detroit last year. They have the highest winning percentage against above .500 teams in the league. They're finally playing better at home. Most importantly, they seem to be gelling.

It seems like we were a team going through Tucker/Bregman withdrawal for a while. Tuckers offense and Bregman's clubhouse presence left a big void. But it seems like they're back to having fun again. They got their mojo back. This team is starting to feel like the 2017 team.

Man, if for some reason we actually win another WS this year and Tuve plays well....I can't believe I'm saying this.....but he may pass Hakeem as the greatest Houston sports icon ever.

We seem to meet the moment when we play good teams.
At least I will be able to watch these games.
Except for the Dodgers unless they are in Houston.

    Looks that way...
The ballpark underwent major renovations for the Athletics, including improved stadium video displays, audio enhancements, technology to maintain the grass surface, new weight rooms and training facilities, a new home clubhouse behind the left field wall, and upgraded premium clubs and seating for spectators.[18]

The Sacramento River Cats will continue to play at the ballpark, playing home games while the A's are away and vice versa.[19]

    Thanks for that.
Good to see any farm club getting upgrades.
    Minor league baseball is fun.
We had the Astros Small season A team here.
The Tri City Valley Cats. Graduated a ton of Astros.
Unfortunately they left when minor leagues downsized.
We have an independent team which is fine for the love of the game and fireworks night.
But I can't get invested because there is no tie to my team.

Life is great...Rangers lose 4-1 to KC...Royals sweep them. Rangers now 36-39.

Jacob Lopez is coming off 2 good starts in a row. His ERA is damaged mostly by 1 horrible start.

Yes - and some smart people that follow the game were saying he was smoked a month ago.

    He just keeps chugging along.
