The 14th amendment isn't about slavery, the 13th is. The 14th amendment is about ensuring that states do not take away rights guaranteed by the federal constitution. As a lawyer who practices in state court, the 14th amendment is the most important one we deal with (because it is what makes the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th apply in our jurisdiction).

It is costing our Country $BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to keep all of these businesses closed. The workers don’t want it either! Soon we’ll end up having a holiday for every once working day of the year. It must change if we are going to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social platform. He really is a racist psycho to use today to say that. Not even that, but crying and moaning because Americans get too many holidays. We are one of the few countries in the world that don't require workers to get paid on Federal Holidays, and most countries have more than us. Not only that, we are also one of a few in the world who don't even require paid annual leave. American workers get a raw deal already and that jerk b****es about it. Juneteenth was made into a federal holiday in 2021 when everyone was swept up in the racial apology tour and the pendulum swung way too far in that direction. We already have MLK Day to honor civil rights. Do we really need Juneteenth? Probably not. It doesn’t do anything to solve the issues that are currently holding back the prosperity of minorities. And I didn’t get to trade US-listed equities today because the market was closed.
