As much as I don't believe in him to be a starter in the next few years, I would not just trade him for the sake of trading him. If we can get another young player on a rookie contract sure, but those are rare. Otherwise I'd rather use him like a mediocre draft pick, add him to a big trade to save an actual draft pick. So where the Raptors may offer the #9 pick, we can offer #10 and Whitmore which is obviously better. Unfortunately Whitmore made his bad attitude public when he told the media he doesn't know what he has to do to get off the bench and the Head Coach and GM had to answer a question at a press conference where they said that's a lie. Teams will fish that out quickly and understand that he may not be coachable. There were rumors of that before getting drafted too. It's his life, but old men (aka NBA GM's) won't be ok with him posting pictures of himself drunk with 2 chicks in an elevator as a way of coping with being benched. They won't like how disengaged he looked on the bench for most of the season or how unprofessional he played in garbage minutes. We're not GM's but if we were to make a trade, we would fish out that kind of info easily about someone by doing a little bit of online research. You better believe GM's are more capable of finding out this info than we are. He was drafted 19th and it feels like he's proven why he dropped to 19th. I think he's worth roughly a #19 pick right now. I wish things were different with Cam. This team's biggest weakness on offense is people who can make jumpers - specifically pull up 3's. Guess what? Whitmore is the best on the Rockets at making pull up 3's. We could really use that, he would have been an excellent backup getting rotation minutes and threatening Jalen's starting spot. Instead what we get is exactly the qualities you expect from a poor attitude: no defense, selfish on offense, sucks at making catch and shoot 3's. Combine that with the fact that he's atrocious on drives and you understand Cam is a reclamation project than requires BOTH therapy and basketball development. Hope someone somehow gets through to him but kids who were practically abandoned by both parents at 5 years old typically don't get their **** together till nearer their 30's. Would be awesome to have him come back with motivation to defend, share and shoot better. Jalen improved his catch and shoot by TEN percent last summer and has improved his defense dramatically under Udoka. Cam can do the same if he wants to.
Folks throw around the term superstar way too loosely around here, there are perhaps 4-6 superstars in this league if you count the aging ones. SGA for example is a superstar because his IQ, he knew which part of the game that is tailored to himself to work on and his EQ to get his teammates going, how lead and communicate.
Nope, I have eyes. Dude misses a shot and doesn't get back on D because he's too busy crying about it - that's a bad attitude. Talent wise is also obvious, the dude has 1 ability, and he's not that consistent at it. There's a reason he can't get minutes at SF compared to the others we have. Nice try though lmao, get his **** out of your mouth and realise he's not a good player. It's T-Will 2.0 with less athleticism.
And Sengun does the same. Which means this is a biased statement not based on truth and facts but mere judgment and assumption. It’s your perception of an “attitude” problem.
How do you know he has good EQ? Kobe had terrible EQ yet he still led a team to multiple championships. There’s no evidence that SGA has good EQ.
Monte Ellis said ever since Stephen Curry got more Muscle Strength, his confidence grew. Most of our Young Players need to add Muscle.
I will say for me personally Jalen not developing his passing game has been a disappointment in his career, and I'm sure a lot of Clutchfans feels the same way. Yet his assist % is nearly double Cam's. Jalen's assist percentage should be like the bare minimum for a high impact backcourt player IMO. Cam has a way to go there, and the eye test passes it. Not saying he won't get better.
We can't afford to resign Jabari and Tari and keep everyone else. Tari is healthy right now and has value. I'd rather trade him now than see him suffer another injury and lower his value.
you realize JG assist % jumped but the issue is most of his passes are either to Alpi in the PnR who had a bad year by his standards of finishing - or JG pass is the hockey assist… his playmaking took a huge leap this year, specially with FVV out even tho we didn’t close well in a few of those games Cam passing is about as nonexistent as DB and Tari on fast breaks - lol not happening
His ceiling is a JR Smith type. It takes more than just pure talent to become a superstar. For instance, IQ, Drive, Work Ethic, Leadership…. Cam is a uber talented physical specimen with a nice jumper and athleticism but he more or less sucks at everything else.
Every Jalen Green defense post blames everyone else. stop this bullshit ok. No one is buying this. How he played IS HIS FAULT. No one elses.
truly cultbase of excuses and accountability he plays great in game 2 - that's him he plays sh*t for 6 games - that's on everyone else nothing but frontrunners
