I mean at this point the longer it takes the less likely we will trade for him since I don't think we are going to up our offer. Ready to move on to the draft and free agency.

I guess it's a good thing if you'd rather keep the guy we can't convince anyone to take in trade over the guy other teams want in trade....

Of course, the Rockets aren't likely trading FVV for Durant.

Durant, Brooks, Adams (can't be traded now), and the Core 7 would not fit under the 1st apron next season.
The Rockets aren't trading the extra FRPs that would be needed for a FVV-Durant trade not to cap the Rockets at the 1st apron next season.

The Rockets are not going to exercise FVV's team option and then have to pay extra FRPs or JSJ just to use FVV as matching salary instead of Green or Brooks.

Dillion Brooks, Jabari Smith Jr, Jock Landale, Aaron Holiday, 2027 FRP that would be my absolute final offer,

Anyone hear Matt Thomas yesterday talk about the rumor where they came out
and asked Houston for a Durant trade?

Sengun and Amen to enter the trade discussion for Durant?
On the way to work i nearly lost my cool.

    LOL

I don’t even want KD anymore. I just want us to address the backcourt and find a shooter that isn’t closer to 40 than 30 yrs old.

Memphis as a 3rd team might make sense if Phoenix wants to offload Jalen, especially w/ all the Phx picks both Houston & Memphis are sitting on. Think Jalen to Memphis, Ja to Phoenix, KD to Houston w/ picks and salary filler involved where necessary. I certainly wouldn’t do it if I’m Memphis, but there have been plenty of reports about Memphis being fed up w/ Ja’s antics

he’s the most overpaid player through his first 4 years in the league that I can remember. He needs to be off our balance sheet. He hasn’t done a thing to earn any of his money except be “talented”. At some point you admit your mistake and move in a different direction. U don’t keep pouring money and playing time into the wrong guy.

we need to fix our backcourt, which was the weak link of this team. That’s what we should be doing.

wait, do you have any idea how valuable that 2027 FRP is? plus 2 reasonably high-end rotation wings at on defensible (brooks) and good (smith) contracts? that is *a lot* for the option to extend durant.

Also, while I'm here, small rant:

First off, I've quite literally never commented on a space, ever. Wild how some people will literally make stuff up out of thin air to pile on someone they don't like.

Second, this is one of the reasons I quit X/Twitter, the narratives and groupthink are becoming so strong that it's very difficult to have good-faith conversations. Whenever people see an opinion that doesn't mesh with their own, "reasonable people can disagree" is no longer an option. It can't be that two reasonable people can both look at the same information and have different opinions about the future. There's one right way, one wrong way — and someone is arguing the "wrong" side, there must be a conspiracy angle behind it (PR team nudging them, agents, bizarre attachment, etc.). Can't possibly be just a difference in opinion over basketball projections.

Finally, lol at "how the hell are some of these people journalists." First off, I'm paid to aggregate news on a fan blog, my opinions are separate and simply me speaking as a fan. Secondly, excluding people working for the team or direct team partners (SCHN, 790), I think Danielle Lerner (Houston Chronicle) might be the one and only media person who gets a full-time salary to cover the Rockets. Even Kelly, and I love the guy, his job scope is covering several teams. Just happens to be based here.

Pretty much everyone else, myself included, is an independent contractor getting paid monthly, usually $1,500 or less. Translated, it's a side gig with a few extra bucks, if that. No health benefits, etc. Either the person has another job that's actually paying the bills, or they're making so little money that they're literally living below the poverty line and they probably have a free-rent arrangement, somehow. Very strange how some people have such a high bar for these positions (i.e. "how dare so and so be a journalist if he holds an opinion I don't like") in a media landscape where 95% of the roles are either A) literally living in poverty, or B) requiring a full-time job elsewhere to live at a reasonable level. Odd behavior. If these people really feel that strongly about the sanctity of sports writing and blogging, I hope they're investing heavily on their local newspaper, The Athletic, and any other subscription site for content. Somehow, I doubt they are.

Anyway, rant over. Hope y'all are well. Let's get KD.

I know you don't like this draft, but packaging Jalen to move up could land a solid shooter (and possibly a future pick).

Brooks is add on to Jalen. It makes no sense cap wise for Dillons 20m contract to be the base contract included in the deal. It pretty much has to be Jalen, FVV, or Sengun and it’s absolutely a no on Sengun.

hey man, I don’t always agree with your takes. I think you put way too much stock in Jalen. But I respect how hard you work, your love of and dedication to the rockets, and your reasoned and well articulated opinions. Don’t let the haters get to you. When we stop being respectful of different opinions debate is dead. We are all rockets fans. Keep doing what u are doing!

Amen/Durant/Tari/Cam or Amen/Brooks/Jabari/Tari which group of forwards would you like to have for the next 2 years?

Much appreciated. Yeah, it's entirely possible that I should be lower on Jalen than I am. We'll see how it ages in a year.

Stone: "We have multiple 1sts being offered for Dipo!" o_O

It's modus operandi! (GM 101)
