This seems to be one of those rumors that the media generates for extra stories. There's no logical reason whatsoever they would trade him. They can cut costs other ways. He's a dream fit around Zion who they've decided to keep. He's only 25 years old. Missi Zion Trey Murphy/Herb Jones X Dejounte Murray (unmovable right now) Why on earth would they trade him? They can just draft a SG or C at #7. They can trade the lesser Herb Jones and #23 pick if they need an upgrade elsewhere. Why would they trade their 2nd best player? Doesn't make any sense unless they're tearing it all down. Count me as a non-believer. Maybe they saw the Bane price tag and feel like they can find another sucker, but I doubt it.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Murphy wound up a Laker with some mysterious ridiculously low value trade. This franchise seems to give their best players to Lakers on demand. The Chris Paul (voided trade) & Anthony Davi trades were stupid. They maybe loading a 3rd.
I think it was somewhat a media construct (CoPilot Ai even said that the asking price was too high). You maybe - MAYBE - could have gotten him at that price pre-Bane trade, but prolly not now. McCollum is their SG
I would rather have Trey than KD for sure, but the asking price would be higher. I'm not sure either would be worth the cost. This is what was suggested, and it is way too much. Houston gets their guy, while the Pelicans reload New Orleans Pelicans Receive Forward, Dillon Brooks Forward, Tari Eason Guard, Reed Sheppard 10th Overall Pick, 4 Future First-Round Picks and 1 Pick Swap Houston Rockets Receive Forward, Trey Murphy
ROFLMAO. Murphy led the Pelicans to the bottom of the Western Conference, Houston was 2nd. Why would the Rockets do this?
Yeah that is not what is even in the tweet which I’m sure is already steep. I’d do Brooks and Green for him.
Wow!! I didn't realize Try Murphy was an All-Star and Future HOF! Maybe it's the torn labrum that ended his season. Those don't come cheap these days.
That D Bane trade screws up leagues perspective on cost/value of a trade and picks. I'm for trading for Murphy; but at a lesser cost.
First mistake New Orleans made was name their franchise The Pelicans. Could have been 50 better names Associated with the state. Second mistake was drafting Zion. Third, overvaluing players who's only claim to fame is losing the dunk contest. (Rockets have made this same mistake)
I like Trey but I don’t quite get the froth and hype around him. He’s fine but given the reign last year what did he do? Signing Tari to a reasonable deal trumps most trades available not gonna lie
