How the hell did Espada not get Diaz an AB? Just like leaving Walker on the bench yesterday. I knew from the 7th that this was a loss. The A's sucky pitchers are just too much h for them. This team needs to add offense. They can't lose to the A's !!!!
no 2-outs magic. no 789 magic. astros scored 5 or more runs only 3 times the last 10 games. not sure where they're going to find offense now that pena is going through a cold spell.
Lol.. did you expect to sweep Oakland every series this year?? Astros won the first 2 and outscored them 16-4 two weeks ago. Stay calm. It's one game and the Astros are only 1.5 games behind #2. Yordan will return - and the Astros will win again before he arrives.
No fun getting beat by AAAA team in a minor league ball park and a team with the 2nd worst home record in MLB. Our starting pitching staff always gives us a chance to win almost every game.
Lol, two of those 5+ games were 10 runs -- 2 other games were 4 runs. Dodgers have scored 2 runs or less 4x the past 10 games. Yankees have scored 5 total runs their last 5 games. Those 2 teams are Top 3 in runs scored. Astros have other players not named Pena to produce offense -- plus, Jeremy could very well get 2 hits tomorrow. Team just won 5 in a row, then after one loss, the sky is suddenly falling.
Once Abreu started looking like ****, Espada should of pulled him. He didn't do that, Abreu threw a ****ing beach ball to that dude and obviously crushed it. Ugh, flush this turd in the toilet and move on for revenge -
It`s fun when were doing the walk off.....not so much when the other team does it. Yikes and we start George Costanza tonight
The Astros are so good at taking no name pitchers and making look like Cy Young candidates that they often do it for the other team also.
Greinke is better than several hitters on the roster. In all seriousness - the cost of someone like Lux or Ward has to be low at this point. Neither player is keeping their organization afloat. The Astros should be aggressive talking to teams about these types of guys. It isn't like either of them are great either. Lux can hit but with almost no power and Ward has power but his batting average is Evan Gattis like - but both are upgrades. Lux could be playing second and hitting near the top of the order, he can hit - and extend the Astros line up. I am sick of having these guys called up and getting playing time that shouldn't be in the big leagues --- that Hummel guy should be in a softball league.
Astros have 4 guys with a .700 OPS or better. And 700 is not even good. I'd say minimum one bat needed, maybe two. Weird thing is, if Altuve is back as our 2B, we've got the up the middle positions covered (2B/SS/CF), which should be more difficult. We're getting little production from anywhere on the corners or DH, except Paredes.
To be clear - getting one NOW... ideally add another one at the deadline, but right now they should be able to add someone for a reasonable cost. I personally wouldn't be shocked to see Altuve at 2nd in the playoffs, so I am fine playing him there now. Could even add someone like Lux and have him and Altuve carve up all the time as second. Adding one bat now will extend the line up, and that is going to make a big difference. Lux this year has hit right handed pitching to the tune of .820 OPS and he isn't a product of the Reds band box, as he is better on the road than at home.
