Yup - once the US decided to abandon Iraq, there was really nothing positive that could come out of the US involvement. There was a time were the US could have remained in Iraq and helped soften the situation, but instead the USA raised an entire generation of Iraqi's and then ran away leaving them to the wolves.

The war in Iraq and Afghanistan was an obvious and profound mistake at the time and it was known that removing Hussein would help Iran and Israel grown ---- and yet we still did it.

Excellent at solving problems? They have had "problems" with their neighbors since they returned to Israel and haven't really resolved any of them. They seem to be very good at taking US aid and killing a lot of people though.
