Truly unreal! Terrible teammate, great hitter. I wonder what prospects are included in the "and more" portion of the trade. I know the Red Sox are desperate for pitching but Hicks and Harrison haven't been good this year. I would expect the Giants to give up some good pitching prospects.

 

Or they'll just take on his full contract.

I believe his stats in Anaheim aren't that great either.

Astros pitchers in general might be his biggest problem.

 

i don't really understand this trade from the Giants stand point. Didn't Devers say he wants to play 3B and not a full-time DH?

giants already have Chapman at 3B and he's a great if not a really good 3B. ain't no way giants gon stop playing Chapman at 3B. Giants gon put Devers at 1st?

also, thank god a big bat is leaving the AL. watch Boston will now no longer be able to beat the Yankees lol. Devers is a Yankees killer.

 

My guess is they’ll play him at DH and appease him a bit by playing him at 3B on days Chapman rests. But it’s possible Devers will have a different attitude after going to a new team, since part of his beef was that the Red Sox promised him he’d play 3B when they signed him to the extension, so he felt lied to.

 

I know this is half joking, but Trout always seemed to be disinterested in actual winning and just comfortable playing out each season as it was. I don't want my highest paid player not really caring if they make it to the post season or not.

 

Tyler Skaggs scandal destroyed that franchise.
