I don't know. He's pitching like Zach Greinke out there. He attacks the zone with a 92 mph top end pitch with most pitches solidly in the mid 80's. All I know is his ERA is way south of 2.0 with 3 starts. I really don't expect anything more from him.
After today's win and Yankees loss, Astros are only 1.5 games back of the Yankees for #2 seed in the AL and only 4 games back for #1 seed.
Considering the fact Yordan has been injured all season, and other players are beginning to un-suck, the offense has nowhere to go but up -- and there will be fewer close games and games where we need shutouts and 2 runs by the pitching staff. Alvarez should return within 2 weeks. Paredes, who knows. But 950 OPS from Yordan will still equal a better offense even if players like Peña and Meyers slip a little bit.
Like finding a few thousand dollars in you seat cushions. LOL. Well Hader initially did for one season. LOL. He's kind of made up for it though
If he keeps pitching the way he is then you might call him Brandon Greinke. That would be phenomenal.
underrated comment. How many hitters come to the Astros and get worse ? like all of them in recent memory
Yeah he’s def having a good year but his swing his also made for Daikin Park - so perhaps he’s doing same same but getting some home field advantages ? But yeah , he hasn’t regressed. Just seems like a handful do when joining the Astros
He had a career ERA of 3.99 and an ERA with the Astros of 4.04. He was a league average starter when he got him and remained a league average starter with us.
