Let's take a great three point shooter from a team that generates a lot of open catch and shoot three point attempts, and then put him in Orlando. I get wanting to surround Franz or Paolo with shooters, but if Bane does what KCP did in Orlando, Orlando just ruined a 4-5 years of their window.
It's because of Bane Alligator Arms If he had Orangutan Arms it would be 6 firsts & rights to Sergio Lullaby
Weltman does know that you're supposed to negotiate on these deals and not just say okay to the other team's first offer, right?
Wonder if the Grizz are rebuilding now or if that was just such a crazy offer, they couldn’t say no?
Meh their bench still isn't good. Suggs can't stay healthy. Bane has his own back problems that have kept them out. They still don't have a good playmaker or actual point guard to set anyone up, which aside from their woeful shooting was their biggest problem in the postseason. This seems to be their big "all-in" move and they don't seem to have more assets to significantly improve the team. I'm still skeptical.
Supporting roster pieces can still be moved, they aren't all bad players, juts a terrible fit for this team. Wagner and Banchero will be their offensive hubs, plenty of teams use non PG's as their primary facilitators. Not saying they will be title favorite or anything, but I certainly get it.
ORL getting bane is like NY pushing in their draft capital for Mikal. overpay with picks, but you understand the rationale.
They cashed out , didn't work, now reset... What's the problem? Before that they went to the Finals... They had to try something .. Gonna be a long road back but the fans ain't got **** else to root for so they'll live with it im guessing..
Desmond isn't a shooter, they need a cheaper Fred Van Vleet and Malik Beasley type for starters. A playmaker/2 shooters.
Gotta agree to disagree here. Bane is a 41 percent career three-point shooter. When teams play against him, they don't help off. This will give Franz and PB more space to operate in.
Who started all this 4-first-rounders + "meh" players + pick swaps? Was it Morey? Shizzle-nit is getting out of hand.
Supporting players can be moved, but for the most part are already on market value contracts. I get wanting Bane. I just don't think well paid non-shooters are easy to trade for shooters without draft capital, for which they won't have much. This is a move that makes it very hard to substantially change the roster without trading one of Paolo or Franz. If this deal makes them a contender, it is worth it. I think the "does this trade make them a contender" argument is way overused in concerns with the Rockets as the Rockets will likely have picks left or stil young players that have surplus value besides Amen and Sengun. For the Magic, they have De Silva who has surplus value and the 2032 pick after the draft.
