To address a few: Vance Boelter isn’t a Democrat and holds no position in the DFL (what the Democrats are called in Mn). He was appointed to a non partisan advisory committee. By DFL governors and his appointment ended in 2023. He rented an apartment in Minneapolis and his roommate this morning confirmed he is a Trump supporter. Melissa Hortman was the former DFL house speaker and minority leader. She wasn’t going to leave the party. She did vote for a budget bill that denies MN health insurance to undocumented adults. This was part of a compromise that was backed by Walz to end a stalemate on the state budget and avert a shutdown. Because the MN state house is tied a DFL vote was needed. Hortman agreed to vote for it not because she liked it but to take the pressure off of the rest of the caucus. The shooter was caught in a shootout with police and it is likely if he hadn’t been stopped then might have shot others on his list. Yesterday morning the governors office and state patrol had issued warnings about attending protests or other large public gatherings. The organizers of the MN NoKings protest did consider cancelling it but went ahead. Tens of thousands Minnesotans still showed up. I was proud to be there personally even though I had gotten messages of concern from friends and family. Next door to the State Capitol was an Asian Night Market festival that there was also some concern about that I was scheduled to perform at. That went forward also and was proud to be on stage there. Many of us who came out for these events and others felt it important to not give in to fear, to stand up for our beliefs and bring joy to the community.

Millions of No Kings Protesters marched in 2,000 cities across the US peacefully, yet some right wingers on here call them No Kings riots. Now, if millions of right wing radicals and hate groups were out marching the streets loaded up and spewing hate in 2,000 cities across this country there probably would be a reason to worry. Look at all the violence upon cops and damage a few thousand inflicted in one spot on Jan 6th, and they didn't have any civilians nearby to kill except the ones running for safety inside the Capitol.
Other than Republican voters the majority of the country disapproves of Trump, be it libertarians, democrats, or independents. That's a fact.
