For those wanting to trade Jalen in the deal. Do you really think Fred / Amen can be a good backcourt for an entire season?

I think we’ll regret trading Jalen once Fred & KD miss their avg 20+ games

I think Fred splitting time with Reed instead of 40 minutes a game would be a good backcourt.

Again, those of you willing to put Jabari or JG in a deal for Durant...
Or add any picks beyond this year....

You are overpaying...it's unacceptable. Don't buckle the closer we get to possibly acquiring KD.

If it happens it happens, but hold the line...
We are dealing from a position of strength.

You think Jalen has positive value on his new contract?

What's wrong with Iko? If you're not giving up anyone from the core and FVV returning is a formality then you mathematically don't have enough salary to acquire Durant. So what the F are they discussing then?

Does he know that in basketball, salaries have to go out for salaries to come in?

Suns can say whatever they want, they're trading Durant this summer and will take the best offer voluntarily made by teams. The best offers will come from those Durant has told he will extend with.

The teams who want Durant on a rental will offer role players and a mediocre pick. The teams who are confident Durant will extend will offer a barely-better deal. Suns will take the best one and after deciding to trade him will say "we wanted to do the right thing and work with the player". That's how it always goes.

    Yes.

There's still perceived upside around the league. Folks are drastically underrating his trade value.
    I want him gone too.
But, he needs to go in the RIGHT deal.
    We're not giving him away.

Vecenie’s package remains the one and only one fair package imo and is the maximum I’m willing to pay.

I am showing my age here but I remember when the Rockets traded Thorpe for Clyde the NBC broadcast was questioning why would the Rockets trade for a SG and have no one in the front court to match up against all the PFs in the west.

And even as a kid, my thought hearing that talk was, "Didn't we trade for a superstar?"

I think there's a good chance Fred / Amen / Reed could get the job done. There's some risk involved because you are relying on improvement from Amen and Reed.

Another possibility is a second subsequent trade sending Tari or Dillon out for a shooting guard or combo guard.

Idk. Amen my favorite in league but I just do not see him and Fred being a good backcourt. I think we’ll regret trading Jalen and be fed up with FVV by end of season

Yes. He was the leading scorer on a 50-win team last season as a 22/23 year old.

FWIW, there is a clear gap between the talent going out in trade proposals I’m seeing on this board vs proposals I’m seeing in national media speculation not associated w/ The Rockets. If KD is traded here, my guess is you all can probably expect the cost to be higher than you prefer it to be

It's the Clutchfans Paradox, where Jalen Green is both worthless and worth enough to trade for a legitimate superstar.

This makes the most sense. We can always find a replacement for Fred down the road if needed.

    Sengun / Adams
    Smith / Eason
    Durant / Brooks
    Green / Whitmore
    Thompson / Sheppard

Durant for VanVleet, Landale, and the #10 pick

I’m hearing almost zero murmurs about FVV coming out of Phoenix, but I am hearing Jalen buzz. My guess is Rockets would prefer trading FVV over Jalen too, but Phoenix has already said no dice a while ago.

He's worthless on the court, but his bad contract is good for salary matching in trades.
