I shouldn't have @'ed you guys, my bad. The "thunderdome" stuff was me making a late night joke. My basic point was that I'm beyond ready for the US to get out of that whole region, let it sort itself out, and quit arming all of the parties: Israel, Saudi, etc.... Keep the massive air force base in Turkey, one in SA or Kuwait, and of course Diego Garcia....and our sole purpose should be to keep the shipping lanes open and safe. 2 rotating carrier battle groups would to the job, I assume.
