Really don't remember the last time Astros brought me this much joy. They have no business winning all these games. Have several times today ranted positively to spouse about the recent games and she trying to shut me up and leave her fk alone . Maybe if have to think it would be Altuve hitting homer after Dusty sat 15min refusing to be ejected feezing the Rangers pitcher in 2023 ALCS game 5. Especially when Rangers booth is always so b****y, if they win Colorado 10-0 they b**** all night about missed call in 2nd inning. Maybe better to prep myself for the occasions Abreu/Hader will have a meltdown and lose the game. It's insane that I always expect trusted bullpen guys to be perfect but when we get to other teams bullpen Im like "starter out, time to strike" . If I have to nitpick and have gloom about something, Rangers & Mariners starting to win games. If there is unwritten rule from Manfred that teams can't walk star hitters in first 5innings (feels like it), hopefully somebody starts breaking it in Raleigh case. Yesterday 1st inning, 1st base open. Pitcher makes perfect pitch and he punishes again with one hand blooper. Also day b4 Castillo pitching even Mariners booth was bit confused middle game him getting 6" high fb's called strike. They were "oh...hmmm....Castillo has had some calls tonight". Im ofcourse just biased but certainly lot of people would be happy Astros not winning AL West.
Hummell, Dubon, Guillorme with Meyers as your 5 hitter. I get the situation that led to this, but yikes is it ugly.
The names look objectively putrid, I do actually think this is the best lineup for this game. While not a huge sample, lefties have crushed Woods Richardson, So in the absence of actual good hitters you may as well try to play the matchup game. Only guy on the bench worth mentioning is Walker, we aren't sitting Barry Bonds.
Eh, I don’t mind them getting a game in. Pretty normal for teams to let the guys who just got called up a start.
Think about it. Who is on the bench? Paredes is hurt. Salazar and Rodgers aren't any better than the guys who he DID put in the lineup today. Walker is the only legitimate starter he left off, and he in no way has played to a level where he needs to be playing everyday.
