Rockets would still have early Bird Rights to FVV. If they get Jerome to sign, they would still bring back VanVleet. It would be a little more difficult to move things around, but being below the 1st apron allows things like that much more easily (i.e., costs fewer draft capital).

The Durant news got Bari hell bent on becoming KD.

    KD Trade:
Gambo (suns connected source) said that PHX is pushing SA to include the #2 or Castle, otherwise they are going with a better deal from HOU/MIN/MIA.

So it sounds to me like we're being used to drive up the price for SA.

Not bad, Suns are doing good for themselves, to create a bidding war.

SA still owns the 14th pick (from ATL) and can use it as their own pick instead of trading it.

I mean, what else can u say. Hard working kid who wants to be great. Betting on Bari’s heart and work ethic is a good bet.

Any franchise would be doing the same as the Suns to drum up business. I don’t believe a single one of these talking heads, because all they can do is report what the Suns are telling them. The Rockets should set the price they are willing to pay and say take it or leave it and that price should not be high. SA ain’t giving the 2nd pick in this draft for KD. Hell, they could probably get 2-3 future unprotected picks for it. Harper’s been touted as a can’t miss prospect for years. If the number 2 pick is for sale, what would the Rockets pay for it?

Now the Rockets don't have to draft one ... or expect Jock Landale to be the backup.

IMO, Rockets will jettison Landale only if his contract gets in the way this summer. Otherwise, may as well keep him as a practice dummy.

Id rather pick up Fred’s bloated team option than extend him at the numbers we are hearing about.
