Pulling for Minny to make the trade. Rockets 2 years away from being 2 years away. Don’t want a guy the same age as Jeff Green for the ridiculous price. Durant has 2 years before retirement….give up Brooks and a 2030 first and no more. Otherwise focus on Cam Johnson and 19 for 10.
If we give up Green and Jabrari we better be getting a young superstar like Zion. Durant retiring in 2 years at age 39…..get a clue Stone!!!
I wouldn’t give up the 10 pick. Derek Queen is 19 and has 20 years of Sengun like basketball left. Durant has 2 years of injury riddled 37-38 year old basketball left. Surprised that Minny would give such a large haul. Would you give up good players and firsts to get a 39 year old Hakeem? Seems silly how much is being offered because of a name and not the reality of the situation.
I know people like to hate on Gobert, but he is still good defensively and if the Suns believe in Dillingham and they also get a pick, that's not a bad haul. I know people here want Durant but you can't let your desire for him cloud your judgement that Minni has a pretty good trade on the table. I guess Minni is okay being a 2nd apron team again because that tells me they are going to pay Mohammed to come back as their starting center next year. They are going to have a hard time filling that roster, so I don't necessarily hate it. May push out Edwards eventually since they will have less depth next season and they will likely struggle to get back to the WCF.
I could post the other 4 reports; but you got your mind made up. No point. Just too perfect a fit for Spurs and Durant and Suns and 76ers. Morey reportedly loves Dylan Harper. Equates him to James Harden. Maxey wants to be present when Dylan Harper is or was there. 76ers thinking about moving Maxey to SG and play Harper at point. VJ Edgecombe fits well next to De'Aaron Fox, V J, Durant, Wemby, name your center. If that center is Steven Adams......Durant and Wemby would get a red carpet stroll to slam dunks galore. Just saying.
Like I said, not sure what would be of value. Gobert is highly paid and older. DD just a role player. Dillingham wasn't anything special as a rookie. No picks or cap relief...
The fact that the Rockets are losing steam in the CLo green Durante buzz rankings cannot be underplayed @Jontro need will I am to get out on the socials
I'm not mad at all if we lose KD to the Wolves in a trade built around Gobert - that's fool's gold. I'm happy to keep the Suns' picks while they look for a quick fix.
You can post whatever reports you want. Until Durant is officially traded, they are meaningless. Modern sports “journalism” is a race to get the most views and clicks, not accuracy driven above all else. I would know, since my college degree is in Broadcast Journalism. “Reports” like Bill Simmons thinks Durant ends up San Antonio are nothing burgers. I also don’t have my mind made up that the Spurs are out of the Durant’ sweepstakes. Durant could still end up in San Antonio.
PHX is using Minny as leverage it’s that simple. They are trying to run the price up. Well, if I’m Stone call their bluff. Let him walk to Minny. KD wants Houston and Houston wants KD. Again, keep the offer simple Stone. FVV, Jock Landale, add draft picks and maybe Aaron Holiday and keep it moving. We really don’t need anymore picks for the next 2 years, we have untapped talent on our team that we haven’t even explored yet. (Reed and Cam).
Perkins has always been an idiot. Durant has lost a step, but we need him for a specific skillset, shooting and closing. He is still very capable in those roles. He doesn’t have to be a “leader”. He probably isn’t even going to take us into contention if he is the only move. If the price is right, the Rockets would be idiots not to take him. We can all argue what that price is or if the Suns will take our offer, but Durant would make a huge difference for this team when on the court.
If we miss KD, but pickup Cam J + #19(for #10) as well as Trey (for #19 + future FRP + Dillon + Cam W) , I would consider that a major win
As long as the Rockets add an elite shooter (Durant, Cam Johnson or Trey Murphy), that’s a big step in the right direction. Durant just elevates the team’s ceiling for the next two years a lot more because he can be their closer and number one offensive option.
