You're bringing up someone I didn't. I like trey Murphy. Has nothing to do with not paying Tari. Best case scenario he should be the 5th highest paid player given his injuries. Someone will pay him starter money on a gamble. There are more costs to being well over the cap than you care to admit. It adds restrictions to trades and exceptions you can use in free agency.
When did Cam become Amen? He is always in the doghouse. He's a distressed asset teams view at a discount.
They have to match salaries. If it's Jalen and bench depth I'm fine with it. I don't see them willing to move Jabari. He would start next to Durant and Brooks would play in Jalen's spot. Amen would see minutes at the 1 this year. He's getting starters minutes just picking up from a bunch of guys...
I like Amen at the point but I don't see them willingly going with no backup plan. No telling if Reed is ready. Aaron Holiday would see major minutes and be a starter if Amen is out.
Possibly but I think Ime is a big believer in Sheppard and will shove him into that role. Stone will push for that. I like Holiday but I'd bet on the team developing the hard working youngster. They've only ever not given a chance to draft picks if they have a bad attitude (Whitmore). Everyone else gets an opportunity to justify the investment. Personally I don't care what happens but I am a big believer in Sheppard. I think he's going to be excellent next season and it will be very hard to keep him off the floor. He'll be a bit stronger with more polish on his jumper and handle. IMO he's the perfect backup PG for a shooting-starved team.
Durant’s asking price was reportedly down The Spurs bowed out of the race So now Phoenix is pitting the remaining teams against each other to squeeze an extra asset or 2 to maximize its return
I think KD prefers Houston and everyone knows it. I also think PHX is trying their best to get the most out of Houston and Stone is staying strong. Don’t fold Stone!!!! Send them expiring contracts, FVV and 1 pick. Keep it simple Stone.
This is like not breaking up with a hot girl who's stealing your money because they might not steal money from the next guy after the lesson they learn from getting dumped by you.
They have zero leverage to do that. The Heat have no assets and the Wolves are in the second apron and have minimal assets.
The continued good news is that no matter where KD goes, PHX and BKN will continue to stink. No matter what happens, we're good.
More than a couple of sites are saying it's a done deal. We must keep Steven Adams away from them. He'll throw Sengun, Tari. Jabari around like a bull in a china shop. CP3 might come back as well (to Spurs). Choice between Lakers or Spurs. This is why they would rather have Edgecombe over Harper. Spurs had Edgecombe in for a workout and reports say they love him.
Id be weary about lines meaning anything anymore similar to political polls. They are starting to get manipulated by people within organizations who know that the direction is likely elsewhere and they can make a quick buck. Noticed this during the Jabari/Paolo draft. Its when you see the whiplash lines move towards the end that you know what's about to happen. If they do want sometime done soon you may see one more move on the line which will be the real indicator.
"On Wednesday, Brian Windhorst said on NBA Today on ESPN that Phoenix is seeking a comparable package to the one it sent to Brooklyn in 2023. The Suns sent Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, a 2023 first-round pick, a 2025 first-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2029 first-round pick, and a 2028 first-round pick swap to the Nets for Durant and T.J. Warren." Um. Yeah. No thanks!
What does the last line mean? “Trade negotiations are ongoing during game 3 with the Suns” seems like a re-post of old news to me. Anybody know what the odds are today?
Durant could end up with the Spurs, but the reports you are citing are virtually meaningless. Bill Simmons thinks? Come on, now. There are also more recent reports that the Spurs are not one of the top three contenders for his services via trade. Regardless, unless the Rockets want to deal with loaded Thunder and Spurs’ teams in their own conference for the foreseeable future, they should be trying to ensure Durant ends up in Houston or anywhere but San Antonio.
The Suns aren’t getting anywhere near that for a 37-year-old Kevin Durant. I want whatever their front office is smoking, if so.
