Poole has not been good since that 2022 season. He should be putting up much better numbers in Washington where he has free reign to do anything he wants. Jalen was objectively the better player last season. I'm very surprised you'd even do the swap, let alone downgrade our draft for it.

I'm not a massive fan of Poole, but I'm not sure Jalen was "objectively" better last season. Poole was much more efficient (.59 TS% .v. .544), shot better from 3 (.38 from 3 on 9 attempts v. .354 on 8 attempts), posted a better PER (16.6 v. 15.1), etc. Yes, Green is a better defender than Poole, but if Green was as efficient as Poole last season, I wouldn't be at all interested in trading him.

Okay that's fair. Poole was definitely the more efficient player last season. I just think Green's overall impact was objectively better. But maybe Ime could get Poole to play better defense.

For objectivity, one should probably use measures that are not subjective. EPM has Poole as the better per minute player (worse defensively though). Green's health and playing more minutes helped him get more estimated wins (function of EPM and minutes played). The numbers were really close. To me, might as well flip a coin to determine who's better. Granted, I don't watch much Wizards ball so I had no idea who they would rate higher.

There are 85 NBA players rated by EPM as worse defenders than Green (minus rookies and sophomores). Scanning through that list of 85 guys, about 20-30% have been listed as trade options for the Rockets on this board. Other guys that were injured, I fail the "Never let them see you pucker" test any time someone wants one of these 85 players.

This is my attempt at a trade knowing that the Kings are looking for a PG. To me Demar really does not fit with Lavine and Monk, although he had a great season a couple of years ago wasn't that great last season. This would allow them to get a good PG to set up the offense with Domas and Lavine and they could use their MLE to sign a spark plug off the bench this offseason.

Suns get some help to start rebuilding their team around Booker while keeping them competitive for next season.

Draft capital as needed to make value work. Sengun may need to go to a 3rd team. This fixes a lot of spacing issues and adds a rim protector.

It's a random trade thread so no worries. But from following the MEM beat last couple years, all signs point to them re-up JJJ and giving him the highest max money possible. So while Sengun's 33m looks OK, JJJ will become instantly more expensive in his upcoming extension. All their moves so far including ones this year (getting rid of Marcus Smart), is make financial room available to pay JJJ.

To the point where if they have a sophie's choice say to only to be able to keep one; they'll move Ja before they move JJJ. JJJ is staying over there.

The problem is JJJ's next contract will be crazy. He's a better fit for Amen and the other players but his b-ball IQ (particularly fouling) isn't very good.

Yes, I know JJJ is only 25, still has a lot of upside and he could mature. The guy needs a demanding coach who forces him to play smarter and more focused. When I watch the Grizzlies, he is too much of a Jekyll/Hyde type of player from game to game and that really bugs me.

Please do not trade any future PHX picks back to the Suns.

Man, I hope this is true. This is a fair price for Trey. People here are willing to pay this and more for a KD rental when in reality it should net you a young player who is an all-star or who looks like is going to be one. Not a 37-year-old KD on an expiring deal, and due for 60 million a year.

Beat me to it. I’d rather substitute #10 if they would take it, but I doubt they would.

That's too much for him. He is coming off a labrum injury. The Rockets must resist such moves.
