Clearly the White Sox are just gonna showcase Civale for another trade, but that return to Milwaukee seems weird. I guess they are gonna option Vaughn and try to fix him, but he’s already thru 4 seasons and has been unplayable this year. I would have thought they could have gotten a better return than that.
I feel like the Astros could have made a better offer. Whitcomb and Blubaugh, Fleury, or Santos would have been much better. Maybe Whitcomb alone would have been better. Or, of course, Dubon as I mentioned yesterday. Feels like a missed opportunity.
I remember posting about the friction between Devers and the Red Sox brass during spring training. Devers kept reiterating he was not going to play any other position besides 3rd base and he did not want to be DH. Cora and Red management didn't seem to give two ***** about Dever's during the Bregman pursuit. Wonder where he is going to play with the Giants with Matt Chapman and his gold glove at third already..
While I hope our hitters get healthy soon, with our pitching this team is almost NEVER out of any game. Look at today, all 4 pitchers have sub 2.00 ERAs....amazing. DD
