The Trump admin is now declaring they don't need a search warrant to raid people's houses if they are suspected to harbor a undocumented people even though they have to provide no evidence of their reasonable suspicion.

Nobody has destroyed the constitution more than Trump

while Trump’s efforts to deport illegal immigrants might be popular in a broader sense, when things get broken down into specifics, what he is doing is not popular at all

A Pew Research Center poll earlier this year showed that Americans opposed deporting people “who have a job,” 56% to 41%. They also strongly opposed deporting people who came here as children (68-30%), the parents of US citizen children (60-37%), and undocumented immigrants who married citizens (78-20%).

A March Marquette Law School poll was similar. While 68% broadly favored deportations, that number dropped to 41% for people who have been here for years, have jobs and have no criminal record.

And a February Washington Post/Ipsos poll showed Americans opposed deporting people who haven’t broken non-immigration laws (57-39%), those who arrived as children (70-26%) and those who have been here for more than 10 years (67-30%).

The problem for the administration is that these groups cover large swaths of people who would likely – and indeed already are – getting swept up in its deportations. The broader you go in your effort to make good on the “mass deportation” promise, the more likely you go after sympathetic targets.

A case in point: A huge proportion of undocumented migrants in this country have US citizen children, due to birthright citizenship. Pew last year estimated 4.4 million citizen children have at least one undocumented parent
    .

rounding up car wash workers, arresting people outside of Home Depot, raiding restaurants and car mechanic shops, arresting people going to their immigration hearings, etc…ICE has even been raiding churches

none of that sh*t is popular, don’t let people try to tell u otherwise

and this is why I can’t stand the weak pathetic Democrats…they allow these despicable people devoid of all morals to control every narrative…people don’t want what the Trump regime is doing

47% of U.S. adults disapprove of of deploying the Marines to LA, with 34% approval.
    • 45% disapprove the National Guard deployment, while 38% said they approve.
yet the only one fighting against this is Gavin Newsom while the rest of the spineless Dems sit back waiting for talking points from some random focus group or consultant

What's really upsetting to me right now is I get the occasional "I''m really mad right now" email from a Dem, but most of what I get is just your typical fundraising crap. Like, donate and you can win a chance to meet Obama! **** Obama's silent ass.

I'm afraid we're ****ed if we don't see big protests this weekend.

man, I literally block every single number and delete the text whenever they send me something…they’re crazy if they think I’d give them a dime

they act like they’re in cahoots with the opposition because it can’t be possible to be this pathetic and weak unintentionally 24/7…they move like they’re being paid to be this way

    @raining threes

It is quite telling that you have made no attempt to support your prior contention that Trump is about supporting and following the constitution. Dead silence, crickets. Maybe you’ve given up that position realizing it is utterly baseless.

Likewise it is hilarious that in real time, contemporaneously with my very posts on immigration, Trump said what I said here - we as a country benefit from exploiting illegal labor by paying them low wages and there is no real desire to “follow the law”.

Is it sufficiently clear now that Trump has said it?

Trumps policy, which you love, is (1) demonize all brown people and tell MAGA that brown people are to blame for their troubles difficulties in their lives, (2) continue to exploit cheap illegal labor so that you can pay less at the grocery store, hotels and restaurants, and (3) terrorize all brown people with the threat of deportation, even if they aren’t anywhere close to rapists or murderers.

You can stop pretending that this is about “following the law”. This is about making sure we continue to exploit cheap labor and preserving the political issue of immigration by making a national spectacle.

Sadly, this is objectively true - at least in modern history.

Trump has done what he promised he would do and I don't know about the Constitutionality of what he's doing. What he's doing is what he promised and he's letting the SCOTUS decide on the constitutionality, not some federal district judge who's trying their best to subvert the will of the 77 million who voted for Trump.

    Read my post above.

Trump has already accomplished a lot of what he said he was going to do. Secure the border and deport ILlEGALS, lower inflation, lower gasoline costs, lower food costs including eggs and he's done it within 120 days.

You have an issue with these things.

I'm not cowardly, I was busy with work today. Obviously you weren't busy with work.

As far as the rest of your post, the SCOTUS will decide if the will of the people will be carried out

Question, how has your life been negatively impacted since Trump was elected? My life has been impacted in a positive way and will be affected even more positively once Powell lowers interest rates or his term runs out in 2026. Powell really doesn't have a good reason to not lower interest rates.

2 bits, you need to stop lying

trump said 90 trade deals in 90 day; 70 days later, only 1 trade deal, with the UK,
inflation and cost of eggs are still higher than when Biden left office. the tariffs will drive them up more.

2 bits is too ill-informed to understand what tariffs are

Why do you say tariffs are unpopular? They will become more popular once jobs start coming back to the USA.

The lawfare is a big reason Trump is POTUS.

We will see about his popularity in the minority communities. It's growing and if the economy codes well I suspect that his popularity will only continue to increase.

Agreed about the decisiveness, but it's not like like Trump didn't tell you what he was going to do and the people voted for this.

James Clyburn, Tim Scott, Byron Donald's, Burgess Owens Al Green etc... would disagree with this part of your post.

Gasoline is higher today than when Biden left office
Inflation is higher today than before as the impact of tariffs are hitting now
Food prices have gone up according to his own CPI report
Eggs have only come down cuz the bird flu went away. Nothing be did.
Drug prices have gone up since he came into office
Mortgage rates have gone up as the 10 year treasury is higher
Auto rates are higher today than when he came office

These people live in a alternative reality thats disconnected from the world.

This is politics... it's performative. You've never left the naive high school mentality that has you broadcasting your SAT score online. AOC wasn't going to the border for photo ops during Obama's tenure, she saved the charade for evil white man Nazi. Performance and emotional manipulation are the hallmarks of pushing narratives.

There are hours of footage of local city council meetings where residents are complaining about the flood of illegals. These are minority residents and legal immigrants in low income communities who felt the effects of the instability first hand.

This has nothing to do with skin color, as the growing number of hispanics and blacks who agree on this issue tell you. 64% of hispanics approve of Trump's first 100 days. It's an acknowledgement that ignoring law and order based on emotion isn't a viable policy. The under the table hush hush agreement works fine when you don't have a porous border with 500k a month being encouraged to come through. So this absolutely is a reaction to Biden and Majorkas and why so many Americans are behind it.

But we know we have illegals doing vital work Americans won't do all over the country. So there will be an about turn eventually - depending on how pronounced the impacts to businesses are. Trump has already acknowledged this --

    https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114670684664650262

so it's a case of proving he really is for the American people and a tough border wall before rolling it back. The long time employees with no criminal record should have never been deported, and now he subsequently has precedence to provide work permits to allow them to work in the US legally.

Trump has caused a financial mess with his idiotic tariff scheme. Utter failure to deliver any results, other than probable insider trading by those who he feeds information to. One “deal” with the UK, who we had a trade surplus with. Repeated capitulation as Xi and others are making him their b-tch. Meanwhile, the value of the dollar has plummeted 8% in five months because Trump is an idiot. I am paying much more for travel, food and every other cost associated with traveling and spending money abroad. His idiotic tariff wars have since created chaos in the markets, so yep, he has screwed that up too.

I am also worse off because I have chosen not to surround myself with only like minded people, and unfortunately, MAGA is louder than ever in their mindless support of Trump. So I have to listen to those morons or cut them out of my life.

More importantly, Trump’s war on brown people has caused significant fear and uncertainty for Hispanic people I have employed for over 20 years and care about. Good hard working people who deserve far better. I am happy to spend my time, expertise and money to help them, but it certainly does not make my life better, which is nothing compared to the harm to them.

Bottom line - Trump has been nothing but a negative in my life, but I can handle it. I immigrated here as a kid and we grew up with nothing. Poor ass immigrant in the Sharpstown neighborhood. But I outworked and achieved enough to build a life, financial security, strong family and can take care of me and mine. Lots of people I know cannot say the same and Trump has done nothing to improve their lives.

By the way, if Jerome Powell reduces interest rates, it has nothing to do with Donald Trump. If he doesn’t reduce rates, it also has nothing to do with Donald Trump. He has a job to do and does it pretty well. And yes, there are very real reasons why he might not cut interest rates. If inflation, jobs reports, consumer spending to name a few.
